Hi Becky,
I use a product called Basic H2 from Shaklee corporation. It is a biodegradable product and a couple of drops in a spray bottle keeps the bugs at bay. Please email me @ ____@____.com if you would like more information. GS
I have a 9 mos. old angel and he's always getting bitten when we go on evening walks. Does anyone have an idea of what I could use to prevent this? Thanks in advance for your help. :)

I use straight Listerine in a spray bottle. Safe and harmless. Also, you can tuck a dryer softener sheet beside the baby.
I know this sounds weird but...listerine Mouth wash works for my kids! They had spent the day with my aunt and when they came home I asked why they smelled like mouth wash. She told me she used it as bug spray, I checked them out and not one bite!!! Maybe it will work for you?!
I think Burts Bees has a natural one or just check with the pediatrician. We always walk in the morning when there are no bugs...maybe you can switch it up some days.
I second Skin So Soft by Avon!
you might want to try a mosquito net that fits over the stroller but i've also heard of avon's skin so soft and that it repels mosquitos
We use Avon Skin So Soft on our 7 mo old. I have known for years that this works well but I think it works even better now than before. Hope this helps.
Yes - there are many! Try a Whole Foods store or The Sunflower Shoppe in Colleyville. I get mine at Market Street in Colleyville. All herbal and natural.
I use unscented Off Family Care. I spray it on my hands, then rub it on my daughter.
I have the same problem with my daughter. She is allergic to mosquito's and we use Burt's Bees insect repellent. It has oils from herbs to repel the bugs. I bought mine at Lowe's (they carry burt's bees products) or you can find it at the Cupboard in Denton (or any other natural food store). Hope this helps. :)
POWDERED GARLIC. I buy it in bulk at Costco. Rub it on exposed appendages, the powder will fall away but smell remains. Works PERFECTLY, even in deep woods. I have bug allergies and most sprays actually attract bugs to me. This work great! Luckily, I like garlic and the smell doesn't bother me. 100% natural and safe if he ingests it.
California Baby makes a kid safe bug repellant. It's all natural and works well. I think I got ours at Target.
California Baby makes an all natural bug repellent that we use on our kids. It is safe for all ages and hypoallergenic. I got it online, but I think I saw it at Target on the baby aisle. Good luck!
Jason's natural bug repellent@ SPROUTS
don't put it on hands, though
The new Off clip ons are great. I used one when we went camping and didn't get a single bite.
I use Melaleuca's products which are safe on ALL person's. Check them out at www.melaleuca.com and I would be happy to help you, just call or email me! ###-###-#### or ____@____.com
You can try rubbing his arms and legs with a dryer sheet. It repels insects and smells good.
Hi Becky,
Avon's Skin So Soft is very safe & keeps the bugs away - works for my 16 m/o twin boys. Hope this helps!

If you want to keep the commercial products off his skin....I'd use the Avon SSS oil. It really seems to work.
Also, we read that a little spray bottle if Listerine works. I've not tried that though.
We use the Deep Woods Off if needed.
Avon Skin So Soft is the best. You can purchase it in a small spray bottle and then buy the bigger ones for refills. It's gentle and perfectly safe for babies.
Good Luck,

Our daughter is a mosquito magnet. I have been using Buzz Away from Whole Foods and it does a pretty good job, but we are going back to Deet now tha West Nile has been found in our neighborhood. We are typically anti-chemical (have a 100% organic yard, etc.), but our ped. told us the American Pediatric Association has recently changed their recommendations for children. The risk of harm from mosquitos/West Nile plus another new REALLY bad virus that has shown up in South Texas (I can't remember the name but it is often fatal in children) are far greater than the risks of harm from Deet. Up to 20% is now approved for babies-- you just have to wash it off at the end of the day & keep it out of theri mouths(off their hands). If you use Deet on anyone you MUST wash it off. That is where the problems arise- by leaving it on.
