There is a great group called the International MOMS Club. It has chapters all over the world. I live in Rochester and am currently president of the Rochester south chapter. It's a great group to join. They usually plan playgroups according to the age of your children, activities to do throughout the month, monthly meetings/speakers, and usually a moms night out. They also usually have book clubs, walking groups, and scrapbooking club. Go to their website and see if you're interested. I love it!

Check the MOM's club website. Search for the closest chapter to you. I am a member of a MOMS club in Rochester Hills, but there may be one closer to you. http://www.momsclub.org/ (this is the International Moms club website you can search for a chapter close to you on there).
Also Google "MOMS club in Royal Oak" to find a Moms club in your area.

Hi I am a SAHM of 3, the youngest is 3 months, I live in Troy but have a few friend in Royal Oak. If you would like I can pass on your info to them and I can also give you our playdate info, we have kids of all ages. You should also do a search online for playdate groups, for the first time moms there are many options.

Formed five years ago by four first-time moms, the co-op allows the exchange of childcare among a tightly knit group of families. Members of the co-op participate in organized social functions such as family holiday parties, Mom’s Night Out, zoo outings, and other play dates. Members also lend a hand by providing meals or running errands when a family welcomes a new baby or experiences a crisis. It’s a great way to meet other moms in the area and you can’t beat the free babysitting!
