Saw an ad on here "Mamasource" for a diet I believe it was a diet for Idiots, not my name theirs. Says you can ut off 9 lb of stomach fat every 11 days --- you download the plan, of course not for free but $$. Just wonder if anyone has done this and what results.

You dont have to PAY for a diet...the rule is...you eat less calories than you burn..you WILL lose weight!!! I have been fighting this battle for a LONG time now...and believe me..there are no short cuts.
I am a member of a really great support website here online....
SparkPeople it is absolutely free...and has tons and tons of great things that you can make use of. There are hundreds of different support forums that you can join and I can guarantee that at least a half a dozen of them will be tailor made for you and whatever situation you are in at the moment. You can track your nutrition...exercise...there hundreds of great resources and they seem to be adding more everyday. Come on over and join us....I am KansasMom03 ...if you want a familiar face when you come in the door!!!

I am not a big fan of diets because once the diet is over, people tend to put more weight back on than they did before. What you're looking for is a lifestyle change. What will take the weight off and keep it off is a new way of thinking about food, nutrition, and what you put into your body (which probably isn't always food). I read a great book called "If It's Not Food, Don't Eat It" by Kelly Hayford, C.N.C. It is sooo helpful and it also explains why people gain weight from drinking DIET soda and "light" foods. All of the processing that "food" companies do totally deplete the nutrients so that there's nothing left by the time you consume it. It causes American's to be overfed and undernourished.

I started changing our eating habits after I read this book last summer when my husband had cancer at age 26. We now live much healthier lives, although we were never big junk food eaters to begin with. My husband was opposed to all this at first because he thought we were going to be eating weird food, but once he realized that we ate mostly the same things, just a healthier version, he won't ever go back. He also knows how much better he feels and how much more energy he has.

I really recommend this book. it will not only change your lifestyle, but its really entertaining to read. I couldn't put it down. You could find it for cheap at Amazon.com.

Best wishes!!

I have no experience with this particular diet, but whether you are trying to lose weight or just eat healthy, or even to get nutrition advice for kids, go to
mypyramid.gov. The amount of information is incredible, charts, food options, menu planning, etc.
It's all free and based on a balanced, healthy diet.
