I've never tried Hylands but have tried Chestal and also Simalison (sp?) which seemed to work pretty well.
Has anyone tried Hyland's Cold' n Cough 4 Kids? Says it's for 2 & up and all natural. My 3.5 yo has had a terrible cough the last few days so bad where she couldn't go 30 seconds without coughing last night. Did give her an antihistamine which seemed to help. She does have nasal congestion as well. Have also had the humidifier running, done the steamy shower and Tylenol/Motrin. We will be seeing her MD Monday but just trying to relieve some of her discomfort until then.
Just looking to see if anyone out there has had good or bad results before I try it. Thanks
Happy New Year to all!!
Thanks for all the responses. Saw pediatrician yesterday and she said it was fine to use. Her cough was so bad had to have a nebulizer treatment. Cough is a lot better now but the double ear infection has set in.......ugh!!

I think it helped some, but since we can't give anything else I figure what it does is better than nothing. You can check to see if Amazon has reviews on different natural meds before you buy them. I've done that a few times just to get steered in the right direction.
Haven't used this but we've had good results using Musinex for Kids with our 5-year-olds.
I found the Chestal by Boiron works a ton better than the Hyland's. My son had a horrible cough last year that wouldn't go away and it was the only thing that let him sleep. Good luck!
I love this stuff! Since my 3 y.o. started preschool, he has a cold all the time now. This is fantastic at relieving coughs... excellent, not so much with the runny nose, but everything else does what it's supposed to do. I use it in conjunction with Tylenol. Worth getting.
IT WORKS great for a minor cold, but for the heavier colds a trip to the dr is needsed
We just finished our second bottle btw the 2 babes in my house and we really liked it.
Propping them up on pillows also seems to help with the nasal congestion.
Good luck!
It worked wonders on my kids. Though it doesn't seem to have the same affect it had on our now 5 try old.
Funny Jennifer would say it works wonders, because I keep wondering why it doesn't work. Doesn't seem to have any effect on my 3.5 yr old that I can tell. I just give my kiddo extra doses of vitamin C and up his fruits and veggies. So for you, it's worth a try! Can't hurt, but may help.
OMG. We JUST used this, this past week and it worked WONDERS! We bought the nighttime one, rather than the regular one, to relax him and I TOTALLY recommend it. Everyone was sick at my in-laws' home and my little 7 month old got it....BAD. High fever, congested/runny nose, irritable. We got his adjusted by our chiropractor twice and used this Hyland's. We've never used it before with our other 3 kids....but it worked awesome.
Homeopathics work best in small frequent doses, so we were giving him 1/4 tspn 4 times per day. No sugar. No dairy. Pulsatilla (homeopathic) works great for illnesses, as well. We also bought Kali Bichromium for colds with thick nasal discharge. You might find that locally?
Homeopathics are inherently safe. We rely on natural methods and have never used antibiotics with myself or any of the kids. There is a time and place for them, but we've never gotten to the point where we felt we needed to utilize them.
