Any Moms Dealing with Yeast???

My sister is in agony. She has a beautiful 5 month old baby and is breast-feeding. She had the worst yeast issues during her whole pregnancy, and now they are back. Nothing seems to help, and she is wondering if she needs to stop nursing. Has anyone else had this problem?

What can I do next?

Her best bet is to see a doctor who specializes in yeast treatment. There is a Dr. Paul Nyirjesy with Hanneman University who is an expert in this field. You can Google his name and will be able to locate his address and # that way. Good luck to your sister!

I think I am on yest infection number six of my pregnancy! Before, I only got yeast infections when I was on antibotics and now I get them all the time. I just go through creams like. I have yet to find something that really works, sorry!

My son & I had thrush several times after he was born, so I can sympathize. It is painful and incredibly frustrating. I'm not sure if that is the yeast you are referring to, but if so she should go to a lactation consultant, who can reassure her and also give her some tips to prevent it. Is your sister local? I went to the Breatfeeding Resource Center in Glenside and Colette was amazing. My friend had a similar problem and went on a special diet (hers was much worse, it was all over her body), which helped a lot but apparently was pretty restrictive (if your sister doesn't have a lactation consultant nearby she can google that diet).

Is your sister local? Maybe a lactation consultant can help before heading to a doctor? I see you are in center city but Jackie at Birthmark is worth the drive to the suburbs.
She has two locations:

Birthmark
107 S. Monroe St.
Media, Pa. 19063
###-###-####

33 Bishop Hollow Rd.
Newtown Square, Pa. 19073

the website is: http://familybirthmark.com/
She was very helpful to me when I needed help breastfeeding.
