I am wanting to get your openion and am searching for good inexpencive diapers. I usually go to Costco and get their brand (20 cents/diaper) but noticed the other day that their size 3 was more than Huggies at 19 cents. I dont mind if they are off brands as long as they are good. I was just wondering if anyone pays less than 19c each for diapers and where/how? I do not have a newspaper for coupons. My son is 4+ months old and now in size 3! I read on the internet that White Cloud was good but Walmart no longer sells that brand. Anyone tried LUVS recently? Are they inexpensive/good? Any other off brands? Thank you!!

We tried Parent's choice diapers from Walmart and they leak. We switched to Luvs and never had another problem, and they're cheaper than most brands. We looked at Costco and Sam's Club for diapers, but found that Luvs was cheaper.

I have always thought the sams club supreme are the same as huggies supreme and they are cheaper than costco. Also, target just changed theirs and they are just like the sams club supreme ones. Also, I'm not a big fan of the generic diapers but I love the sams club and the target brand ones now. BTW I hate luvs, I haven't bought any in over a year. On my son the front came open and the filling came out all over my son and they were also missing tabs, plus they alway leaked, gave my kids rashes and they smell horrible. I would not recommend they are the worst diapers that I have ever used.

Probably not what you're looking for, but for the most savings, look into cloth. You'll save about $2000 over your diapering years for one child. Double that if you have another child. If the initial investment is too steep, look on craigslist for used or see if you have a local baby/kids resale shop that would have them. You could also call a local diaper service to see if they sell their used ones. By far cloth is the cheapest route.

We also use a combo of cloth and disposables and have recently been using Luvs. They are not quite as soft on the outside as Huggies and they do have a bit of a baby powder smell to them but we like them and they have worked well for us. More importantly, no leaks! My daughter is still in size one, but I got two jumbo boxes (something like 530 diapers) from diapers.com for about $59 or 12 cents/ea. They always have a $10 off coupon out there somewhere and do free shipping if your order is over a certain amount.

I have to second all of the posters that recommended cloth too! We have a stash of all-in-one diapers and cloth wipes and they are almost as easy as disposables. You do end up doing an extra load or two of laundry each week but for me it is worth it because I know that I am helping the world be a cleaner place for my daughter.

I should also mention, I tried the Parent's Choice brand also and did not like them.

I too buy the CostCo diapers as well as the Huggies diapers from CostCo. I am pleased with both. My favorite diapers are the Pampers, but they are often more expensive.

Amazon is offering a promotion on Pampers right now. When I add this promotion code PMPRSJN9 at check out it is giving me $6.60 off.

A 204 count pack of Pampers Baby Dry size 3 is $37.99 (18.6 cents each)at check out.

A 160 count pack of Pampers Cruisers size 3 is $34.84 (21.8 cents each) at check out. (Sam's Club is about $4 more for this package.)

These ship FREE with super saver shipping.

This is the best price I have found.

It looks like the promotional code expires at the end of the month.

I just stocked up and bought some to give as a gift to my pregnant sister.

Good luck!

we're not in diapers anymore, but we did always use Huggies or Costco brand - whichever one was cheaper at the time.

I did see that someone recommended Target brand and I just have to tell you we tried it and absolutely HATED it. I like Target's brand for lots of other products, but definitely not diapers. They leaked soo fast.

One word: Cloth. You'll save boatloads of money and HELP the environment at the same time. Just one plastic diaper takes 200 years to decompose. I have used cloth with both my kids and when they wore out, I use them as rags. They really aren't much more work than plastic and once you get used to cloth, and ALL the benefits - including better for baby's skin, you realize how exponentially better cloth are than plastic. All while counting your savings on the way to the bank!

I use(d) regular diaper service quality diapers and nylon covers. I love, love, love them! There are more expensive ones out there, but the basic works great for me.

Hi, we get our diapers from Albertsons, the generic brand called Baby Basics. It looks like they come out to .15 cents per diaper and they work just like they should!

When my son was in diapers we always used the Members Mark brand at Sams Club. We tried Pampers and Luvs and these were much better. Luvs, to me, felt very cheap. Huggies are good but for the price Members Mark is much better. I think Members Mark work just as good as the top brand diapers. They are 16 cents per diaper. You can get 200 for $32.32 plus tax.

Sqfeway's Mom to Mom brand are17-19 cents depending on size and sales and I like yhem better than most name brands. But your cheapest would be cloth. They are super easy to deal with and there are many types to choose from...some that require more work than others. We use a combo of cloth and disposable...cloth at home and disposable at night and when we're out. With 3 kids under 4 and 2 still in diapers, I would not recomend somehing that requires too much work. Between the 2 kids, we are going to save over $2000 by using cloth.

I go to diapers.com to purchase diapers for my little guy. They accept manufacturer coupons and have some pretty amazing deals. If you do the referal thing, you can also get $10 of your first order. (Referal Code JENA9908)
I priced them out and compared them to the prices at Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart and Target. I got a two month supply of diapers, six month supply of wipes, and lil swimmers for the summer for less than $60. And shipping was free - I order on Monday afternoon and got them early Wednesday morning.
I have to say, I'm pretty happy with them.

I did white cloud and cloth diapers. Walmart now has Parents Choice. We are out of diapers so I am not sure how much they cost now.

Hello April,

I would suggest to stop buying disposable diapers altogether, and make the switch to cloth diapers (way more cost effective!). There is a cloth diaper called envibum, that provides the total convienence of a disposable diaper, where you just toss in the wash instead of the trash. They are a one size fits all, waterproof, and are the easiest and most affordable cloth diapers on the market. Check them out at http://www.envibum.com

Thanks,
R.

Luvs are great! We use them all the time on our little girl. She's in a size 4 and they are just a good as Huggies or Pampers at leak protection. They average about 18 cents a price from Wal-mart, but sometimes you can get a better deal with the special packages of larger quantities for only a few dollars more.

I absolutely hat LUVS. My daughter leaked out of them almost every time. We've had great success with Target's brand and they are cheaper than CostCo. I'm not sure on the per diaper cost but I know that they are cheaper. They recently "improved" them and while I wasn't sure at first if I like the improvements, they've been fine for my daughter who wears them for naps and bedtime. I think they made the legs fit better than the previous ones and the tabs are strong. I actually stretch them out before I attach them to fully expand them. Good luck!

Just to let you know that the Costco diapers are "supremes" and can be compared to Huggies Supremes which are considerably more expensive and not sold at Costco. The "standard" Huggies which are sold there are not nearly as good, in my opinion, and (as you've seen) very close in price to the superior "surpreme" Costco brand. So it only SEEMS like you're getting ripped off, lol.

We've tried other brands and have yet to find something as good. Others may be cheaper, but they leak easily and you have to change them more frequently.

The best money-saving advice is to potty-train early. ;-)

Good luck!
