Hello moms!
My husband came home from work to tell me that somehow overnight his 2010 Honda Accord is somehow infested with ants! They are coming out of the hood, and the wheel wells, as well as getting inside the car somehow through the paneling in the door. I am guessing they came in the garage becuase it has been raining all week and decided to move their whole family into his car. Has anyone experienced something like this and how the heck do you get rid of them?? We have a 3 year old and I would hate to have to fumigate it :0(
Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone! My husband is on his way to get the Terro and hopefully it will work-he will also park his car outside again. We are taking the car to Las Vegas this weekend so it will be far from home!

Go and get some Terro. It's like $4 at Home Depot and I tell EVERYONE about it! And everyone that I've told about it, tells everyone that they know. :)
Make sure to vacume out the car, and then put down the Terro. It's non-toxic (just borax) and will rid you within the day.

FEED THEM DRY GRITS!! i know it sounds strange..but the ants eat the grits, the grits swell up and the ants explode..and it wont harm your family, just simply vacuum it out when you are done :)

Ditto on the Terro. We recently set this out for a huge colony that had invaded our home after heavy rains. It took a couple of days and many, many baits, but it completely decimated the entire colony. You can get it at Walmart in the garden center.

Oh my gosh, this just happened to my husband too!!! About a week and a half ago his car was just filled with ants.

He vacuumed out the ones he could find but it took a couple of days before all the stragglers left his car. If the car was parked in your garage when it happened, you might need to look into getting a solution for the whole house. We used a company called Termite Terry when our house got infested with ants.

Yuck!!!
