B.B.
You might have fibroids, to know for sure you'll have to have an ultra sound done. I've had fibroids and took a tip from my sister in law, used two tampons at the same time.
Do your periods get heavier after each child?
I used to have normal flow, then after the first baby it got heavier, after the 2nd even heavier, and now, I am going through tampons and pads like crazy! I'm using Supers and need to change them every 1-2 hrs, or they leak and will even soak thru the pad as well.
I am not at the point of thinking that something is wrong, but am just curious.

My bleeding got better, but my other symptoms (crying, moody, just pretty much crazy) got worse. You might want to get checked out just to be sure everything's ok.
Actually, I waa opposite :). Horrid periods, cramping to nearly passing out. Two kids later (before my iud) I had a max 3 day period, no biggie. Now with my iud. They aren't necessarily longer but the flow is heavier. Talk to your doc I know there are procedures that can help. Good luck
It can go either way. And while there may not be "something wrong" with you now, it does sound like excessive bleeding. You may want to discuss it with your doc because it can lead to anemia pretty quickly. Anemia can have many side effects, the worst of which is fatigue, who needs that on top of the general "fatigue of motherhood"? Not to mention the havoc it can wreak on your life when you are constantly worrying about where the nearest bathroom is and if you might ruin your favorite clothes. I think it is at least worth a conversation to discuss options and check your blood levels.
Actually my periods got more manageable after having kids. I would definitely see your gyn just to rule out any other causes.
From the day I started my very 1st period, I had to wear tampons AND a pad and change them every 3-4hrs MAX.
The only time I haven't had to do that is when I got on NuvaRing. But I just got the Adiana procedure so we shall see what happens the period after October 15th whether or not my periods have gotten better, worse, or no difference. After my daughter was born (ex got a vasectomy-no bc for me), my period stayed the same as it did before I got pg with her. As soon as I was done BFing my son, I got on the NuvaRing (hubby & I weren't sure if we wanted another lil one or not) and I got 3 day LIGHT periods. ☺
I got heavier, because I got anemic after having kids. If your anemic, you bleed easier. I took iron supplements which got the bleeding to be lighter.
i have to use the new playtex ultras, and even on my light days i'm using super plus. and that's about every 2-3 hours or less. before i had kids i would use the super on light days and super plus on heavy days. but that was while i was working so i wouldn't have to run to the bathroom every 1-2 hours.
Mine have gotten heavier after each child too. Not only that, I also started to get terrible cramps mid cycle when I ovulate, which made getting pregnant with my second really easy, lol. I talked to my doc about it, he said as long as it's not excessive bleeding not worry. I probably would just mention it at your appt, unless it's starts to get really bad.
