M.M.
Sounds to me like you're in labor. Congratulations!
Okay ladies here I go again (what would I do without you) So last night I woke up at about 3 I have been having what are possibly real contraction, but they feel different then the braxton ones I experienced in the past. Its intense pressure in my pelvic area and abdomen area and period like cramps, not the whole belly tightening I had with the braxton. This morning I had the "bloody show" and more mucus like discharge (sorry for tmi) and now i am just timming the times when I have the pressure cramps feeling. It is really uncomfortable and hard to walk (which I was told contractions would be). Is this what they feel like or am I wrong? I figure when they get closer or my water breaks I will go to hospital, as of right now they are only 10 min apart, so no hospital yet. For those who have not read my previous post, I will be 39 weeks on Sat, was 3 cm 80% on Mon and had my membranes stripped then as well. She also dropped really low from last week to this week, my belly measured 4cm smaller. Thanks again ladies, this whole going into labor naturally is all new to me (I was induced with my 1st and never really felt any contractions). Love you guys and wish me luck :-)
Add- Thanks ladies, bags are packed and I am ready to go. Just waitig for them to hit that magic 5 min apart window, so we shall see.
6 min apart now, we will be heading to hospital soon :-) Hopefully they keep me and I dont get sent home. Thanks again ladies I will update you if anything happens ((HUGS))
Update-So thanks ladies for all your help and advice during my pregnancy. Got to the
hospital on the 15th, water broke and an hr later we had our little girl, Harley
Mae. They didn't even have time to give me an epidural so all natural. I am
feelin great and so is baby and we are home today. Thanks again for the
help through everything, what would I do without this site? (((hugs)))

Sure sounds like labor to me. Be careful not to wait too long. My first took forever, but with my second, my water broke and baby came very quickly after that. Second babies come much faster than firsts.
Good Luck! While waiting drink LOTS of water and eat small healthy meals/snacks instead of big ones - you don't want a half pound meatloaf sitting in your tummy when you go in to labor!
Hi K.
Firsty, wishing you all the strength, calmess in the world.
It does REALLY sound like you are in labour due to the fact that you had the bloody show.
My waters broke,I didn't have the bloody show.
A lot of women don't have their waters break,my mother had all 5 of us without breaking water.
I would ring the hospital and tell them whats going on and see what they advise,
You don't want to leave it too long incase the contractions speed up and you are in a panic to get to the hospital.
Again good luck,sooo exciting.

That sounds like what my labor sounded like, but mine went pretty quick, so make sure you are ready to go at any minute.
The best way I can describe it is sharp pains you feel like you can time. Honestly, I was so miserable at the end with both of our (large) babies, I didn't notice right away. Sounds like you could be in labor, though. Write down the time between the sharp pains. When it hit five minutes apart (which is about the point I started tracking), we went to the hospital. It greatly accelerated just in the car trip there to three minutes apart, so if you have a trek at all to the hospital, don't wait.
I'm just hoping you got more sleep after waking up! Well, congratulations in advance!
