I have intermittent probs with HPV. Every few years it comes up. When it does, I bone up on some vitamins and it goes away.
I have fibrocystic breast disease. I found out between that, prolonged use of birth control pills, and HPV, there were common vitamin deficiencies. If I take those common vitamins, the HPV goes away. It seems to reappear on paps about every 2 years.
I learned this from a women's health book put out by Prevention. It's all on vitamins for women. ISBN ###-###-####.
Here is what it says to take:
Beta-carotene 50,000 IU
Folica Acid 400 micrograms (up to 800 micrograms for pregnant women)
Vitamin C 500 milligrams
Vitamin E 100 IU
"If you are taking anticoagulant drugs, you should not take Vitamin E supplements
A broad array of nutrients found in fruits, fruit juices, green leafy vegetables, and orange and red vegetables have been shown to reduce the risk of cervical dysplasia."
I don't worry too much about HPV when it comes up with me. I am a Christian. I have never been one who fooled around and have just been with my spouse (same with him as well). So, their talks at the OBGYN office that it comes from fooling around just doesn't apply to me. It's from a vitamin deficiency.
Also, there have been articles out there linking plantar warts to HPV. So if your spouse has an issue with those, the virus is in his fluid and can be passed on to you in the form of HPV. There are as many people out there who say this is true as those who say it isn't. Best you can do is research for yourself and take your lifestyle into account.
