What if you try to use white noise in her room as she sleeps? It might be the sound that drowns out the other more sharper sounds she hears at night. So sorry about the baby's ears. That stinks! Good luck, Jen
Hello all! Well thing is my daughter (17months old as of the 10th) had tubes put in her ears on June 3rd. Her ears were really bad and drained for like 3days they had me putting 5drops of FLOXIN 3x's a day for 5days and on AUGMENTIN for 5days. My question is since she got the tubes she wakes up crying or sometimes screaming in the middle of the night. She used to sleep 12hrs straight through (7pm to 7am) prior to the surgery. I took her for her follow up with the ENT at 5days after the tubes he said her ears were clear and great, I asked about the night wakings he said it might be that she hears more things so it wakes her up, or reaction to the anesthesia that can take months to wear off... I sleep with the monitor loud no cars pass by at night no noises nothing so could he be right about the anesthesia reaction? is it really possible to last this long? Anyone else go through this... Its hard on her shes got bags under her eyes, as do I and I'm 4.5 months preggy with #2 so you all know I'm dead tired. how can I help us both sleep better? Her father works 7pm to 7am so hes not home to help me. Please share your stories and/or opinions...
Thanks

Hi. Have u tried a second opinion? Or take her back to her pediatrician, and tell him something is not right. My niece has the tubes in her ears and shes fine, her sleeping patterns never changed and they didn't tell her mom she would hear things much louder either.
I would visit her ped doctor and see if anything else may be wrong. a second opinion can't hurt.
my daughter had tubes at 1 yr old, and never had any adverse reaction. Yes she was able to hear things differently with her ear drum clean but I do not remember her sleep being affected.
best of luck on getting some sleep soon :)
I would get a second opinion. I work in surgery and I have never heard that. It sounds a bit strange to me. Go to your daughter's doctor.
Good luck!

Bothe of my girls have had tubes put in. My oldest has had them put in 3 times and my youngest was 12 months when they put hers in and neither of them have had this problem. They had sleep issues the first 24-48hrs but not past that.
