My friend Terri does a wonderful job with American Doll clothes and girl's matching outfits. She already has a few patterns on file. She can be contacted at ____@____.com and is in the SE MI area.
My five year old grand-daughter got an American Doll for Christmas and she loves it. She is really wanting matching outfits for her and her doll. I know that I saw clothes for sales at craft shows but did not pay any attention; does anyone know of someone locally (southeastern michigan) who sews and sells clothes for American Girl dolls and children? Thanks!

We love out Am Girl Dolls. Do you knit or sew? My mother knits and she knits matching scarves and hats for my daughter and her dolls. My sister sews and she made the cutest ponchos one for my daughter one for the doll out of fun fleece. Fleece is very easy to work with you cut and you are done. Very cute and my daughter loves them. Also at Michaels she can by a T for her herself and they make those small things for those bears is there anything close to matching that she could decorate one for her one for her doll? Then it is a project too! And not super expensive.
Hi M.,
My three girls LOVE American Girl. At Target, they sell a 19 inch doll about the same girth, and much less expensive. We have had some luch finding clothes there for them, but only sometimes. Good luck with your search. And, we homeschooled, too, in AZ before we moved to MI 4 months ago. We loved it but too hectic here right now to continue, we all miss it! Did you homeschool in MI?

I would try the Farmers Market on saturday mornings, in South Bend, IN. Not sure if that is close to you but there maybe a place like that closer to you.
Hi. I read your message and wanted to let you know I have a ton of American Girl clothes and accessories plus 3 dolls in excellent condition, 4 horses, carriage, stable and tons of animals. I may be willing to sell all of this since my daughter informed me she doesn't want it anymore. I think we have about 15 outfits and some have never been worn yet. All of this is from the American Girl store. Let me know if your interested.
Have you tried Craigs list?
I am a LLL leader who is a grandma too. We always need help, both on the phones and in the groups. Have you ever considered getting re-involved on a part-time basis?
Hi M.,
My mom makes doll clothes to fit my daughter's American Girl doll and other dolls. She also has made some outfits for them to match. She's a very good seamstress (has made prom dresses, a wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, etc.). Please email me at ____@____.com and I will give you her phone #.
Thanks!

There's a doll booth (DOLLY MADELYNN'S) that has gorgeous new and used 18 inch doll clothes at booth "P8" located inside the Countryside Craft and Antiques Mall at 18 mile and VanDyke in Sterling Heights, Michigan.....they have the most beautiful outfits, trendy and traditional at very affordable prices. They are NOT handmade items!
You can also try the clearance section of the American Girl website. I have gotten my younger daughter bitty baby clothes there less expensively. I have also found some cute clothes for the girls over the years. Luckily my girls didn't want matching clothes, but you may have some luck there as well as the other suggestions you got.
Good Luck!

She makes beautiful outfits. I have bought some from her for gifts for a niece. She does crafts shows and can let you know her schedule.
I don't know of anyone locally, but I have seen many on ebay (new).

I have some that are no longer being used if you would be interested. Let me know and I'll email some pictures. I got them at craft shows.

I would try looking on etsy.com They are similar to ebay, but all craftsy type of things.

M., Ebay always has a good variety, Battat clothing fits american girl dolls, there is less competition on weekdays. Spring craft shows will have lots too. Good luck,

You can now purchase matching girl/doll outfits by Dolly & Me at Sears and Kohls (in store and online). The quality of some of the outfits is a little iffy but others seem okay, and they're very reasonably priced, especially if you get them on sale.

Kohl's had them at Christmas time.
Burlington coat factory sells children's dresses with a baby dress. My girl is only 2&1/2,so I'm not sure if the size is right, but the dresses I saw around Christmas were very affordable & very special.
Hi M. -
There is a country store in Sterling Heights on the East side of Van Dyke, South of the 18 1/2 Mile roundabout. My friend's daughter has an American Girl doll and found some dresses that a lady sews and sells there that, according to her, look very close to the actual American Girl doll clothes, but for a heck of a lot cheaper. She even asked the seamstress to make a particular outfit and she did! Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the store, but it's in the strip mall with a Big Boy, Concentra, and other things.
Hope this helps!
