I have been on Nortrel Brith control pills since my 6 week check up after my daughter was born... so it has been about 7 months now...I take it religiously and have never been late or missed a pill... my periods have been really light while on the pill which I am not complaining about BUT this month I haven't gotten my period... I dont know if this is just a side affect BC the lable says it is a possibility... Does any one have advice or has this happened to any one... I dont want to stress out and make it worse and buying a pregnancy test this soon seems silly since I am technically only 6 days late....

What can I do next?

I was going to say exactly what Beth said, nothing is 100%. I would do a test to rule it out.

Good luck!

I had a positive test a week before I was late with the EPT digital test. I know you said you don't want to buy a test, but that is the only thing that would let you know for sure. If you do the first urine of the morning, it should show up for sure, since most tests work the day you are late. The one I used was even more sensitive. I was on depo for a while, where you don't get a period at all. I would wonder all the time, anytime I felt anything that reminded me of being pregnant. Even having gas would remind me of the baby kicking sometimes. I would try to tell myself I don't have to worry and I am not pregnant, but the "What if?" was always in my mind, and the only thing that lets you know for sure, is to take a test. The chance is small... but still there, so I would recommend just get the test over with so you get stressed out wondering. Or else, give it a couple more days and see if you get your period. I don't like not knowing for sure, I go crazy. I don't know how you are, but if you are like me, you will always wonder until you see a negative test. Good luck!

I was on the lowest hormone dose pill that's out there after I was pregnant and I skipped 2 periods. (I had one, skipped 2 months, then had one again). I called my doctor and she said that as long as you have 4 periods a year, it's ok. Well I wasn't all that comfortable with that so I stopped taking them and I'm back to normal. Call your doctor or take a test if you are worried.

Stressing out about it will also cause your period to be late. I'd not worry about it yet.

If it would make you feel better, I would take a test. Otherwise maybe your pill is just affecting your cycle. I had that happen to me a few times. Good Luck!

No birth control is a 100% effective. I would take a pregnancy test to make sure. my husband and I use NFP (natural Family Planning)...It is an excellent method, you become more familiar with your cycle body and it's a way for your husband to become involved as well.. Also...FYI...some birth control pills cause abortions. And now, many cause cancer.. I had a friend die from using the mini-pill. they proved that's what caused her cervical cancer. and birth control is not good if you are nursing. It decreases the protein in your milk. That's why NFP is the most safe and effective product to use. Hope this helps. :)

if you really want to know and you really aren't sure, but pregnancy is a possibility, i'd say test. i tested the day i was supposed to get my period and the pregnancy test (first response, i think) said i was pregnant - i have no idea why i tested, just a feeling, i guess, but i didn't even have time to be late!

i've never been on nortrel, and i've never missed a period with my bcp's, but i've been late... like more than a week but pregnancy wasn't a possibility.

sorry this isn't really advice per se, but i hope a response helps at least! good luck!

When I was on BC before I was married, I had missed my period once. Though I knew that there was no chance that I could of been pregnant, because my husband and I at that time were not having sex as we wanted to wait until we were married. But you can still get pregnant while on the pill. Heck one of my Friends cousins got pregnant twice while on the pill and she had twins both times. I say test that will help you to feel better, and if you don't get a period before you start the next batch of pills I would take another test and if that comes out saying.. If it comes out saying that you are not pregnant then there is a good chance that you are not...

Most pills have different hormones and the side effects are light or periods that just go away.... To make sure and keep your mind at ease just buy a pg test... That way you will be rest assured.. A.

Have you been on antibiotics? It is a little known side effect that they counteract the birth control pill. If you have been on antibiotics I would advise that you see a Dr. soon. Taking the pill while pregnant could potentially cause problems for you and the baby

The beauty of my body is not measured by the size of the clothes it can fit into, but by the stories that it tells. I have a belly and hips that say, "We grew a child in here," and breasts that say, "We nourished life." My hands, with bitten nails and a writer's callus, say, "We create amazing things."

No birthcontrol is 100% with that I'd take a test. If you can't afford one go to planned parenthood or those other crisis pregnancy centers.

Unfortuatly, birth control doesn't work for alot of woman. I have become pregante with one of my children using birthcontrol pills, and i know of 2 of my close friends as well that became pregante on pills.
I have heard that there is diffrent doses, diffrent brands, and its hard to find one that is effective. Some woman are on them and they work wonderfully, but personally, I wouldn't use them, I don't feel protected.
I would take a test, after about a week of being late, thats me!
I would suggest the "Nuva" ring, it has been a blessing to me. You insert a plastic, flexable ring. It is so simple, you wear it for three weeks and then out for a week!
