So What Happened?

K so cloth wipes are something you can buy at the store? Or are they washcloths? Does everyone wash these out after each use then put in the washing machine?

If you use cloth diaper I will second cloth wipes or little washcloths (that's what I used).
If you are looking for a disposable alternative: I LOVED Viva paper towels. They are super soft, just get them a little wet and they work like a charm.
I kept both in a ziplock bag to keep them wet.

And please never, ever use baby wipes on a baby with a diaper rash, they sting terribly!

Good luck.

I used flannel squares or other cloth diapers and just threw them in the wash with the cloth diapers. Sometimes I just gave the baby a bath.

I also did elimination communication with my babies, so they did most of the pooping in the toilet. This made cleanup a lot easier. When they pooped in the toilet, I just used toilet paper.

I used VIVA paper towels. These are kitchen paper towel rolls (can find then at walmart, target), but very soft and cloth like. I would just get some warm water , wet the paper towel and use it to wipe the diaper area. I know some people stack individual towels in a box and pour in water , it's like make your own diaper wipes box. Easy to use and no harsh chemicals as it's plain water.HTH!

go to K-mart and buy some white wash clothes...cut them in quarters (if you sew the edges, they won't fray)...place them next to your changing table...use a bottle warmer to keep the water warm and dunk them in the water to wipe the bum....no alcohol, just water and your washcloth....

put them in a lingerie bag to wash - and VIOLA! Done.

Baby wash cloths. I purchased about 40 of them from the dollar store (4/$1.00). I would just warm them in hot water and wipe/wash babies hiney with each change. I would wash mine after use! I did this for the first 4 months. My kids never got diaper rashes.

With my kids, I didn't use wipes on them for many months after they were born. I used washclothes, and I collected them in a plastic bag after each use. I would then wash that bag full at the end of each day (usually in machine, sometimes by hand).

I cloth diaper and a lot of us us either cut up flannel receiving blankets, or if you google cloth wipes you'll get tons of different ones. There are also "wipes solutions' you can make or buy. I just use water because it's cheap and easy.
And yes you can use washclothes you buy at the store. I know people use the baby washclothes you can get tons for cheap.

You can buy those little baby washclothes and folded in half they even fit in the travel wipe box. I use these with cloth diapers and wash all those together. My SIL babysits, and has for 15 years, and makes her own disposable wipes. She uses paper towels and baby shampoo. I put a little olive oil in my wipe solution to moisturize.

I cut up some of the million receiving blankets I got at my baby shower and dunked them in warm water with a little tea tree oil. Neither of my girls ever had diaper rash.

We use cloth wipes we made out of the receiving blankets we got when the baby was a bump. I wet them with water with a little witch hazel in it. No irritation, super inexpensive. (Seriously, since the blankets were a shower gift, all our wipes cost about $2.50...the cost of the sewing supplies.)

A friend of mine was told by her uncle who is a pediatrician to use puffs plus with aloe. He told her that the wipes keep their bottoms wet and to use the puffs. Me personally I would think that would leave lint but that is all she uses. He told her to only use the wipes for big messes. I personally never tried it.

We use cloth wipes. I got mine online at a cloth diapering store. (Just google "cloth diaper store" & you'll see several.) They aren't as fuzzy in texture as washcloths - just smooth. I don't rinse them out. I just collect them in a bucket, and then wash them all together in the washing machine.

I store the clean ones dry, and right before using, I just wet it down with some water.

Cloth wipes. I didn't warm the water. I just kept a little spray bottle full, with cloth wipes wrapped around it. It was room temperature, and it never bothered my son.
