Hi,

I have a 20 month old son and I am almost 5 months pregnant. I started to show very early in my pregnancy as well with the second. With my first child, I wasn't wearing maternity clothes until I was around 18 weeks. Not the case here, I was wearing them around 10 weeks. I feel big. I have been told that all the muscles are all stretched out from the 1st pregnancy and it just happens that you will show sooner. I will say that I was in really good shape before I got pregnant with my first, and with this pregnancy I wasn't where I was before. I am trying to exercise, but I am definitely heavier than before. Just try to walk and get out 3 times a week..It will make you feel better. Good luck!

Because your muscle are all ready stretched out from your first, you will start showing way earlier. I do not know about this early and your body never got to really recover from the first baby! Ask your doctor to make sure nothing is wrong. Hope this helps!

Sound normal to me, 4 to 5 months sounds like a bit much but, ya I was like that too. and you said you are over weight, well so am I and I carry most of it in a little strip around my waist, so when I get pregnant I show really early too and look much bigger then I should. As long as doc doesn't see anythign wrong no worries.... It's just kinda what happens after your first.

Yup, I can relate. I had my first child at 17 yrs old and started showing at 4 and a half months. I am 27 yrs old now and pregnant again. I started to show at 10 weeks. So I know how you feel. You know at first I felt embarrased but if you really think about it being pregnant is the most wonderful thing you can experience and its your time to shine. Dont feel bad its normal. Everyone would ask me if I was having twins. HUH?? I would say but hey every pregnancy is different. I hope this helps a little. GO FLAUNT your belly theres a little precious thing in there and he or she wants everyone to know that he or she is in there.

I showed right away too with my second. I was a bit overweight as well, and i really think that when pregnant with your second that you show earlier because there is now stretched out bits and pieces from the first. don't worry about it!! just relish the pregnancy through and through.

Me too! I'm only 9 weeks preggo and I look like I'm 4 months! Of course it's my second child but I didn't expect to show so much so soon. I had my first Dr.'s appt yesterday and I expressed concern for my sudden weight gain (I went from 115 lbs to 127 lbs in just one month!) and they pretty much said it was all fat! They asked what I was eating and since I've been feeling terrible I haven't been able to cook much so I told them I've been eating a little Mcdonalds (only chicken nuggets & fries), Wendy's, Burgers at Ruby Tuesday's and soups at Chilli's (okay so I had chicken fingers once there but they were extremely greasy & that's not going to happen again!) So then they ask me if I've been working out & I'm not b/c the diziness that I had for weeks...so they told me "Well, dear you pretty much anwsered your own concerns- what you're seeing is more likely fat than baby-I mean you're not working out & eating all that junk food- that's why. I was very sad...I guess I was hoping them to say it's normal or something. And of course my friends teasing me about having twins doesn't help either. I'm a little upset b/c I gained a lot of weight with the first child and I was wanting so bad to watch my weight with the second pregnancy but looks like that may not be happening.

Confused--
