Does anyone have a good and respectable company that they trust to check out my air conditioner. We have recently purchased a rental home and there were some issues found by the inspector that need to be checked. I need someone who is not going to overcharge and "fix" problems that don't really exist.

We've had excellent experiences with Aloha Air Conditioning. They came out last year and looked at our unit since our bills were alarmingly high. He found the problem to be some sort of flap somewhere in the vents (I am SO not being technical here) that was stuck open and even showed us how to fix it if it ever got stuck again. All I ended up paying for was the standard "service" charge for coming out to look at it, when really, he could have made anything up and we would probably have paid it.
Aloha has also been good to my in-laws, keeping their extremely old unit working for years without charging them for any expensive repairs. When their unit finally died for good this summer, Aloha got them a great deal on a new one.
We found them because my husband's old boss is the brother of one of the owners, but are in no way afiliated with them. In other words, I'm not getting any kind of bonus from sending you there, other than the satisfaction of knowing they'll take good care of you.

A friend referred me to COLT Heating and Coolling (licensed) and I was thrilled. Randy the owner is knowledgeable and EXTREMELY fair.
I used Wolff Mechnical for years but they overcharge like most companies. They even used that as an excuse when the charged me $500 to install a $80 motor in less than 1 hour. To add insult they were incredibily rude when we quested the charges.
