Afraid of ALL Costumes but Want to Take to See the Wiggles

OK, so my almost 3 year old son is afraid of just about every costume there is, Care Bears, hot dogs, Slider, you name it! He loves The Wiggles though and they are coming to town. I am worried that he may get scared seeing Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus, and Wags the Dog in person, but from a distance of course. He doesn't mind them on TV, but I don't know how he will react in person and I hate to waste over $100. I think it is just the magnitude of the the characters when we are up close, but I am not sure. Can anyone offer some advise?

Thanks! L.

Hi L....
I wouldn't waste your money going to see the Wiggles. My brothers mother-in-law took his nephew to see them the last time that they were in Cleveland. She paid alot of money for good seats, but was extremely disappointed to find out that it wasn't actually the real Wiggles performing. He noticed right away and screamed the entire time...so if you must go...get the cheap seats far away!

I took my son to see the Wiggles when he was 4 and he was not afriad of characters in costume, but he took awhile to get comfortable there. With so many people and the place is so big, it can overwhelming. They put on a great show, but I think if I were to do it again I would probably pass. We spent alot of money that night. I think the cheapest toy was a flashlight thing for $20. Good luck with what you decide to do!

Hello L.. I too would skip goin to the concert. A $100 seems like a HUGE waste of money if you little one freaks out and misses the show. As to getting him use to seeing people in costumes, it is almost holloween. Seems to me he is old enough to get dressed up and go get some candy, and that might help with his fear. In my town they have a parade and pass out candy and that might also work. I have a feeling the Wiggles will be back next year or a new favorite show will be preforming that you can take him to once he has overcome his fear of costumes. Or, if you Christmas is soon here and people will be dressed up as Santa and giving out Candy Canes and that might help him too. Best of Luck!

I am sure it may seem like a lot of fun to take him to something like that but if he is afraid I would just wait a while. Yes with that you do run the chance of missing The Wiggles "forever" but there will always be something else. $100 seems like a big waste if you end up having to leave 10 minutes into the show.
