AF After Miscarriage?

I had a natural complete miscarriage Dec 27 at 6 weeks. My hormone levels were followed to 0 and were at 4 on Jan 11.  My husband and I were hesitant to ttc this month but did have unprotected sex on Jan 15. I still am waiting for my period. Took a pregnancy test today and just a barely visible WHITE line.  Could I be pregnant?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

So tested negative again this morning. Assuming I'm just waiting for my normal cycle. Frustrating because I am normally very regular and it's already been 5 weeks since start of miscarriage. Hoping next month will be more normal so we can start thinking about trying again. Thanks for all of your replies.

If you had unprotected sex then yes you could be pregnant. However if your HGH were at 4 at the beginning of January - you might still have a chemical pregnancy.

I'm sorry for your loss.

That barely visible white line is most likely an evaporation line. They are very easy to mistake for a faint positive (especially, and believe me I speak from experience, when you're anxious to see ANYTHING there besides a blank/negative result). It is possible that you are pregnant, though. It's probably still just a little early to tell. But don't be surprised or disappointed (yeah, I know, easier said than done) if it takes a little while to get pregnant. It can take some time for your body to rev up again after a loss.

The pregnancy hormone levels are pretty low this early (if you are pregnant). They have the highest concentration in the urine when you first wake up, if you want to try again.

My doctor suggested waiting two cycles after a miscarriage before trying to conceive, to let my hormone levels regulate and reset. It worked for me. A friend of mine did the same, after having two miscarriages in a row, and her third pregnancy is now a 4 year old fossil digging dinosaur hunter.

Of course, many get pregnant - and go to term - right after a miscarriage, and if you're pregnant, I sure hope that's you! Good luck - I wish you all the best.

It might take a few months for your cycle to return to normal, or at all. I had a miscarriage on Sept 20 and my period did not return until Nov 15. That does not mean that you can't conceive during this time, just that it is unpredictable. Take it easy, give your body and heart a little time to heal.

Any other signs? I imagine you could be. Try another test.
