I just found out I am pregnant...I am around 4 weeks....I am looking for a good OB/GYN in the north Dallas area (Plano, Allen...possibly even Frisco). Right now I have an appointment at the end of May with Heather Licker (who is at Plano Women's Health Care...she was recommended by my current physician from Bent Tree Family Physicans)...she delivers at Medical Center Plano (which looks fabulous!). The option that I am looking at is Northlake OB/GYN (they deliver at Baylor Frisco or Plano Presby). I know that doctor is a big part of how things go. I want to have someone who is helpful...who will listen to me...and who will help keep me calm. I am 32 years old...this is my first baby...it was a little unplanned but my boyfriend and I are very excited about it. I just want to have the best care possible for my baby...both with my OB and the hospital I am at. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

What can I do next?

I love Dr Jennifer Campbell at Northlake OBGyn. She delivered my first and was fantastic. I like the practice overall and enjoyed the whole experience. I delivered at Medical City Dallas for my kids but my husband has been in Plano Presby for procedures and while it is not L&D or Maternity he found it professional, accomodating and the staff was pleasant and extremely helpful. Congrats and Good Luck!

I absolutely love Dr. Trylovich at Northlake OBGn in Plano. She is extremely patient and never rushes me. She answers all my questions and has the best side manner of any OB I have ever had. Northlake OBGn has an office in Frisco if you are looking for that area too.

I used to go to Dr S Renee Obey @ Plano Presby. (I switched after I found a midwife, which is what I wanted in the first place.) But, if you are looking for a traditional ob/gyn, I do like her. She is a one doctor office. So, you'll always see her unless she's out of town. Back in 2006 when I saw her, she used to call me with lab results herself. When I got pregnant again in 2009, I went to her before I found the midwife. I don't know if it's because I had bad scheduling, but she was more than an hour late on two occasions. These were appointments at the end of the day...

Alison Elmquist was my OB, and she was amaaaaazing. I looked forward to going to the doctor through my whole pregnancy. I'm a huge worrier and she always made me feel better. She's at Medical City Dallas, which has a top of the line Children's hospital - which is great in the event that something were to go wrong, God forbid.

I can't really recommend my doctor or the hospital. I delivered at Allen Presby, and while the staff was wonderful, I found the lactation consultants to be extremely judgmental. I was trying my best to breastfeed, but I always felt that they were judging me because I was having difficulties. I felt that they wanted to say "Why can't you just get it?" I can recommend the birthing classes offered at Allen Presby. The instructor was wonderful. She was so nice and funny, but also gave a lot of information. Also, I never went, but I've heard good things about Centennial on 121. They have open houses for moms to go tour the hospital, etc.
