I know this isnt the best topic but does anyone else have this problem since giving birth? Its not constant or major but I have noticed it for a while and make no big deal of it... but I want it to go away. If I run around alot with the kids.. I feel a little drip and need to pee. Jump on the trampoline and feel like I am going to pee! Today I started a new workout DVD and some of the jumping activities made a little drip.. Its not like I really need to go but its little drips or that need to go feeling. Will some exercise help? Like I said its not constant or an everyday issue. Im too young for bladder problems !! :)

Thanks moms!

Kegels, sister. (Not that I follow my own advice, sigh). But yeah, that'll help get things back in shape.

Everyone is going to tout Kegels as *The* solution and actually they are not. That is only part of the solution. Trust me on this, after 3 kids and doing all the Kegels in the world it wasn't helping at all and was really bad after my third, I would have to change clothes sometimes or wear a panty liner because of the leaking. Pilates. Even a few simple moves. You need to strengthen the muscles inside and out that got stretched out due to the weight of pregnancy and everything being pushed out of place. It isn't because of a vaginal vs c-section birth. You can get it after a c-section too because it has to do with 9 months of baby stretching and pushing things around.
The most basic exercises to pick up are your basic squat. You need to strenghten your gluts which hold things up. The up side to this is you're going to get a more toned bottom. You want to "strengthen your core". The easiest move for this is "The plank". Pelvic tilts works as well to help pull things together.
After years of never getting better, and actually getting worse, doing Kegals by the millions I took up a few simple moves of Pilates as recommended by my midwife and finally I'm not peeing every time I cough, sneeze, lift up my kids etc.

I have the exact same problem. I gave birth in July and I still leak when exercising (anything that involves jumping). I'm hoping it will eventually get better.

You need to call your OB and talk about this issue. It happens sometimes after child birth where your bladder "falls" and needs some help being held up. This same thing happened to a friend of mine who has 4 kids and she is only 39 years old. Just ask the doctor about it.

You could also talk to your gynecologist who can either give you advice or refer you to a physical therapist who can assist you with the re-strengthening of your pelvic floor muscles.

Its called urinary stress incontinence. There are some exercises you can do to treat it and if those do not help, there is surgery that can be done to re-support your bladder. Essentially, the support system of the bladder was destroyed by babies. Not something they tend to tell you before hand!

It's more like does anyone else NOT have this problem. This is very common in those of us who have given birth! Kegel exercises help. There are several good descriptions of how to do them, like imagine that you have to go to the bathroom and squeeze the muscles you would use to hold it in. Start squeezing from the bottom and move gently up. Yoga instructors say inhale while you're doing this and release on the exhale. The good news is you can do this anytime anywhere:) Good luck.

A friend of mine had post-it notes all over her house that said, "Kegel." Thank God we have very absorbent panty liners available now instead of bulky pads.

the best thing you can do is use ben wa balls it is keegle excersises with weights. they really work it helps strengthen your vaginal muscles aswell as helping with incontinence I promise if you were to use them you wouldnt have this problem anymore. you can maybe find them at some store or just order them from pure romance.com hope this helps.

Ugh, me too.
Core strengthening exercises and keegles (sp?) help me A LOT. Your abdominal muscles and all the other core muscles have been stretched out of whack and working on getting them tightened up will really help. The more keagels the better.

Definitely ask your GYN, mine told me this is a fixable problem, but may require surgery. I have similar issues, I just wear a light days panty liner everyday, problem solved! I figure if it gets worse after this baby (due in April) then I may look into my options. I too have done Kegels by the millions and it didn't help a whole lot, but maybe I should try pilates (even though I hate excercise!!)

I started having some leaking recently. i went to my gyn. and i have a prolapsed uterus. i have to have major surgery soon. my uterus has fallen and is putting pressure on my bladder and intestines. get a check up with your doctor to rule this out and ask what is the best course of action for you to take. don't put it off!
