Lanolin-- if you are/were a breastfeeding mom you probably even have the tube of Lansinoh laying around somewhere
Hi moms,
My son has dry lips, Im wondering if you know of a great chapstick that has no odor or harmful chemicals that I can use for my 2yo.
His skin is very sensitive
Thank you

I use aquaphor on my kids' lips.
I like Burts Bees. Ingredients of the regular one are:
beeswax, coconut oil, sunflower seed oil, peppermint oil, lanolin, tocopherol, rosemary leaf extract, soybean oil, canola oil.
I use it on my 3 yr old.
I have also used Mary Kay's lip balm on my son.
my daughter has the same problem and we use nuetrogena lip balm or vasoline. they both work well and are both safe & good for sensitive skin
Hi,
I would avoid the petroleum products. Use virgin coconut oil. It's all natural and a great moisturizer. My massage therapist uses it as her massage oil. I use it for cooking and also use it on my hands when they are dry.
Secondly, why does your son have dry lips? Does he breath through his mouth a lot? If yes, you may want to talk to your dentist about a referal to a myofacial specialist. My son was breathing through his mouth (which increases risk of cavities) and his dentist recommended a myofacial specialist for him. It's been great!
Good luck!
Burt's Bees or shea butter
Hi M.!
I have red heads with very fair/sensitive skin. We use Burt's Bees. Make sure you look good at the label if you decide to go with it. Some of Burt's bees has other ingredients mixed in. I go with the plain chapstick, no peppermint, etc.
Hope that helps!

I use and LOVE Bubble & Bee. They are all natural and organic. They have a an unscented chapstick but their stuff is so gentle I would bet the flavored stuff would be okay. Just in case, Rude Raspberry is my FAV!!

Shay butter, olive oil ... Just make sure it's dosen't make him lick his lips more.
We use Hempz lip treatment. Cures chapped lips almost overnight.
Hi. Thanks so much for wanting to put good stuff on your son's skin! What a thoughtful mom.
When I want help with knowing about good products to put on our skin, I check out the Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep website - http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ It's an amazing resource.
Aside from applying lip balm, I think there are also ways to help dry lips with diet. I get chapped lips when I don't have enough oils in my diet or am dehydrated. (So if my lips are starting to feel dry then I pour some extra olive oil onto my salads, rice, etc. and after a day my lips are healthy again.) And some folks believe that sometimes it is a sign of vitamin deficiency. Also, I've realized that after eating fresh mango my lips get very dry and sometimes peel. (I'm embarrassed to say how long it took me to make this connection.)
All the best and good luck!
Moisture Therapy by Avon is the best I've found. One of my grandsons always gets red, chapped lips from fall through winter, and I started buying it and using it on him when he was under 2. He still loves using it and he turns 13 in October.
Target sells a line that we absolutely love! It's called Green By Nature. It's 100% paraben free and the first ingredient is beeswax. It also lasts for hours. It is also 97.8% natural. Yes, random amount...it's noted on the package. Good luck! :)
What about Burt Bees?
