Can anyone recommend some of type of help service for my mom? My mom lives in Bayonne NJ close to W. 22 St off Kennedy Blvd. She's 70 yrs old and usually does everything on her own until this happened. She injured her 2 fingers on left hand and has a cast on that hand now and needs someone to go to the supermarket for her and help her at her home a couple of hours a day. I live far away from her and can't leave my family behind to care for her. I would be grateful if anyone can recommend some type of help service in the area that is reasonable in price, it would be a great help to her. Thanks so much in advance.

There are several home nursing services in that area and most have homemakers as well as nurses for help that doesn't need the medical expertise. The only one that I can think of is Bayada Nurses but I am sure there are a few others. You might also want to check if it is covered by medical insurance since she has an injury that temporarily interferes with her living independently.

I have a cousin who lives in Bayonne. She is in her late 50's. I will ask her if she wouldn't mind helping your mom out. She lives close to 22nd Street. I think she is on 23rd.

I will let you know what she has to say about it. She works at a doctor's office and perhaps she may even know of a service which could help you out.

If your mom has medicaid and medicare she will be able to get some help. Ask her doctor or just call those offices for help. I believe it falls under the medicaid plan. We had nurses and house aids come to my father's place when he underwent surgery. He is a cancer survivor and he is doing very well right now; still he has someone that comes to clean and cook for him a couple of hours a day. He cooks for himself and does everything else for himself; but the help is always good to have. He lives in Elizabeth, NJ.
