A friend of mine has a 9 year-old son who has been experiencing intermittent vomiting and diarrhea since the middle of December. He has been to the doctor and they have run many blood tests and everything looks normal. He will typically go for 7 days and then wakes in the early morning hours with vomiting and diarrhea. It only last for a few hours and then he is fine. The doctor does not think it is food-related, dairy-related . He does have an appointment with a G.I. doc this week. I am just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar?

What can I do next?

Wow, poor thing. Hopefully the doc will check his gallbladder too. I heard having stones in there can cause diarrhea and vomiting. He's too young for that though. Could it be an early form of IBS? Is the boy very sensitive and under pressure? I hope they find out soon...good luck to your friend and her boy!

I saw something similar to this case on a tv show once and they found out the child was having seizures. I'd for sure look into it.

Good Luck and please keep us posted on what you find out.
