ETA: I love this thread. Splash and Money Pit were awesome. So many very famous actors when they were just starting out.
16 Candles is hands down my favorite 80s movie, if your looking for another comedy caddyshack, coming to America, airplane, police academy, or ghostbusters.
So many have already been listed but one of my favorites is Moonstruck (maybe because I am Italian decent and they are a lot like my family).
Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Highlander, Raiders of the lost Arc, Fletch or Fletch Lives, Caddyshack. It really depends on what kind of movie you want to watch.

Suz T. - This is Spinal Tap is the BEST and a must-see!!!!!
Margie G. - just watched Tootsie last week :o)
The Wedding Singer makes me laugh.
It's fun to reminisce with all the titles mentioned below. The only one I need to second is American Werewolf in London. It's a really unique movie.
Just saw a bit of Top Gun the other day, and it is pretty darn corny, in retrospect.
I was going to respond but saw WW's list and agree with everything on it, plus The Outsiders. Great post, I'm going to have to hunt down some of these and watch them again!
Moonstruck. I could watch that every single day forever.
The Money Pit (Tom Hanks, Shelly Long) - cracks me up EVERY time I watch it!
Baby Boom - another favorite.
Father of the Bride
Father of the Bride 2
Cheaper by the Dozen
Parenthood
She's Having a Baby
I suggest The Outsiders, Beverly Hills Cop, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, Spring Break, Karate Kid, Pretty In Pink, Footloose, St Elmos Fire, and Gremlins.

One of my favorite movies in the world is "Oscar". It's Sylvester Stallone as a moonshine gangster in the 20s, Tim Curry in a hilarious role, Linda Gray in a ditsy role, Marissa Tomei as Sylvester Stallone's daughter, Don Amechi, Kirk Douglas plays Sylvester Stallone's dying father, Vincent Spano plays Little Anthony, Kai Wulff, William Atherton, Ken Howard, and so, so, so many more.
Gosh, every single person in this movie is off their normal type of role and they are hilarious. I love the Finucci brothers scene at the piano with Little Anthony. I start laughing before it even comes on because I know it's coming.
It's 1991 but set in the 20s during prohibition and it's a timeless classic.

Another movie that I love is "Heart and Souls". It's 1993 but it's a wonderful funny movie that I cry at every time I see it.
Robert Downey Jr. is a guy that has his dream girl, dream job, life is good. Then the ghosts of the people that were tied to him at the moment of his birth and moment of their death have to get him to help them grant their undone work when they were alive.
He gets possessed and sings the National Anthem while his unsuspecting girlfriend and her parents are waiting for him in the audience, he steals back a priceless stamp that one of his ghosts stole, and he helps one of his ghosts deal with dying and leaving her children behind. More to that in the movie, that's the part I cry at, when she dies and cries out for her children then when she possesses RDJ and gets to hug her adult son, then there's Julia, who died before she could get a real start to her life and her undone work died years ago.
I love love love this movie and I can't tell you how much everyone enjoys it.
