I'm planning my daughter's 8th birthday. She wants a sleep over with the "Glitzy Girl" theme. I'm looking for suggestions to help with the night's schedule. I don't want the girls to be bored or tear up the house. Even if you list step by step would be great!

Thanks in advance!

**Edit**
We told our daughter she can invite 5 friends.

We just did this with our son who turned 8 last December... our theme was a "Wii sleepover" and we had 7 boys there. Here's my advice:

1. State the rules right away. For example, no one goes upstairs or in the basement, ASK if you need something to eat/drink that isn't on the buffet, no throwing balls inside, etc.
2. Be sure to have plenty of snacks and drinks out so they can serve themselves.
3. Have plenty of things to keep them interested and engaged in the party.

One thing I noticed with the Wii is that only 4 could play at a time, which left 3 out on each game. So, we struggled with making sure the boys took turns nicely. For those who weren't playing Wii, we had the computer set up with games, and we also played board/card games with them. Movies are good, because they are ALL involved. So, bottom line, if you have enough activities to keep all of them involved and engaged they won't be wandering around your house!

People thought we were nuts to have a sleepover with so many young boys, but it went really well... the kids still talk about it to this day!

Have fun!

Look on orientaltrading.com.

I found this: looks cute.

Also saw a suggestion for having them put on a runway show, or talent contest. Maybe Karaoke?

you could play dress up and paint nails and do make up and hair or even have a set up like a salon and do like a spa pedi and mani, that would be cute!!!

There are great party ideas on the www.familyfun.com website. So, I'd check that out. Also, You could have them decorate picture frames with jewels. Then, take a group picture of them all and print it out and put it in the frames for them to take home. Or, get some white pillow cases and have them decorate them with fabric paint/markers (just put a piece of cardboard or plastic inside so the colors don't bleed through).

You can find some good ideas for your type of themed party online if you google your theme. Type in "girly girl party ideas" or something along those lines. Some websites will give you step by step ideas from other moms who threw their children that type of party. Usually I look at other moms ideas and then tweak it a little to fit my party needs. You could buy some boas and tiaras and as the girls come in have your daughter give one to each guest so they can be a girly girl. Get some girly crafts from a Michaels/Joann/Hobby lobby craft store for the girls to make such as, bead bracelets or necklaces, shrinky dinks, lip gloss, hair accessories, friendship bracelets, diarys, etc. That way they can make their own girly girl things to take home. If you're up to it or you have friends or teenage girls around you can have them do a mini salon type thing and have them do manicures, pedicures, facials, hair, etc. for the girls. If they are into dolls, maybe you can have your daughters dolls and clothes set up so they can do doll dress up. On that idea, maybe you can have a little fashion show and have the girls dress up in your daughters dress up clothes, your old clothes, or go to goodwill and get some fun stuff for them to use. A tea party is always a fun girly girl thing to do. Ask your daughter what kind of things she would like to do at her girly girl party and I bet she already has some ideas for you.

it depends on the number of girls.
for our daughter we are doing a mario cart party they are playing mario cart , watching movies, maybe hair and make up, nail polish.
They are also getting their own sleep over sets; pjs , slippers , pedicure thingys, sleep masks.
but we are only having 3 girls over.

We had a Girl Scout Sleepover with 6 five and six year olds. We had a pajama fashion show, we had little areas set up, one was for dress up, one was for nails, and one was for hair. The girls could go to whatever they wanted and play with the stuff in those areas. All moms brought stuff over to contribute. We also had sing alongs with Disney movies soundtracks and then we ended with everyone in pajamas in bed with popcorn and a princess movies playing. The Fashion show was right before they went to bed - we had music on and they danced as they came into the room and found their sleeping bags. The girls loved it. Pizza was for dinner and there were snacks all night long.
Have fun!
