Hello! i have a 7 mth old baby girl who does not care to use her legs. is that normal at this age? she rolls, kicks, & jumps around in her jump - a- roo but when i hold her to stand she goes limp. she does not seem interested at all in standing. i know you are not suppose to compare siblings but my son stood at 6 mths.... he did not walk until he was a year but he still used his legs.

What can I do next?

Don't worry, she is still too young for this to be a concern.

Each child is different, I wouldn't worry. I know plenty of kids that didn't walk until after they were one. It's not uncommon. So don't sweat it. At least she will seam to stay a baby longer period. Enjoy it, you know it goes fast!

My kids sound like yours. My daughter had the strongest legs and wanted to use them. Even her pediatrician made a comment about her wanting to use her legs as an infant.

My son on the other hand did not care. He even learned to scoot around the tile on his bottom and I thought he would never walk. She started walking at 10 months and he was 11 months.

I think things like this vary from child to child.

I have a one year old with the same issue. He has no problem pulling up to standing position, cruising or crawling on his own, but since birth, has not really wanted to stand with someone holding him and will not walk with anyone holding his hands. He is very obstinent and gets "rubber legs". Since he clearly has no physical or neurological impairment, my guess is that he wants to use his legs on his own terms. It sounds like your daughter may be the same way. Good luck.

Do not compare your kids. it is not healthy for them or you. Kids do things at there own pace. My daughter walked at 8 months and my son at 15 months. Do you pick her up alot. she will stand don't rush her pray that it wont be for awhile cause once she does stand then she will run.
