My kids walked at 14 mo. and 16 mo. but my niece walked at 8 mo. she is an amazing little girl and does lots of stuff early. she could read a a second grade book at 2 1/2 yrs.
My 7 month old girl is trying to walk. She can crawl really well and has been doing so for a little over a month she can pull herself up on things great. We have a walker that she sits in and she can move it around pretty good just not on the carpet, but she has a box she stands up with and pushes it around walking on the carpet but it is a small box so she can't stand up straight with it so what could we get her she can stand up with to push and walk with on the carpet?
Thank you for all your answers and we are going to talk to her doctor about if we should get a push walker but I am not going to discourage her even if we don't get a push walker.

.
my third walked at 8 months. it was awful. i had a two year old, and a four year old i was trying to get potty trained. and him walking and not only walking but climbing. he has also had some delays i think that are linked to his walking so early. at 2 and a half he was only saying maybe ten words. he. he has been in occupatioal therapy and speech therapy for about 8 months and he is only now starting to speak full sentences. i was the highlight of my life getting to tell him i love him and he can say back to me " I love you too mommy" now it is still in the stage where it is not clear clear but you can make out that he is saying for sure. I just think the crawling part of their live is so important. they learn and grow and obtain so many skills that they will need for early toddlerhood. so from one mom to another i would keep her crawling. its pretty important.
just another mama,

Ummm no offense to AG but how would crawling make a baby a stronger reader???
I got my son one of those push walkers, he uses one at school and so I thought I'd get one for here. 2 days later he started walking on his own. He still loves playing with it. It even turns into a car to ride on. I'd suggest those.
But I wouldn't push it. She'll get it eventually.
dont encourage it, let her take her time, shes only 7 months, ive read the longer they crawl the stronger readers they...just a thought! If she's ready for the walker let her enjoy that. Theres a whole new world of watching them when they start walking!
We had a little grocery cart with wheels that mine pushed around. It was Little Tykes or Playskool, something like that.
My good friend's youngest walked at just over 8 months, that is way early!!!
You could try a walk and ride toy like this one http://www.target.com/Fisher-Price-Little-People-Learn-Ri...
Funny how this topic went. My son took his first steps unassisted the day before his 6 month birthday and was a quick learner (he had two brothers to keep up with). He is a great reader.....he is now 5 and can read at a 2nd grade level. He only crawled for a month before he walked. Silly.
There are walkers out there that are for pushing, just check the toy isles. They are made so they don't topple over easily and work well. But, they will learn without extra stuff.
we got the Playschool sit n' ride thing from Wal-mart... It's pretty cheap, and has other toys she can play with on it too. My DD did the same thing... she has been cruising sinced she was just over 6 months, but she only took her first steps on her own the day after she hit 9 months.
