My son has slept in just jammies since day one (he'll be a year next week). Now with the weather turning colder I'll put a onsie under his footie pajamas and he's just fine.
My 7 month old rolls around so much at night that he never stays under the covers. With winter coming I have been putting him in blanket sleepers at night but I am afraid he is going to get cold. I put a single blanket on him now and tuck it in on the foot and sides of the bed up to his chest but he still rolls and tangles in it. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you for all the advice about a blanket sleeper....Our house is not old or drafty but I think I was worried about nothing. We are going to turn the house temperature up one degree at night and try the blanket sleeper....thank you to everyone!!

My 2 1/2 yr old son still doesn't sleep under blankets, he will hug them or sleep on top of them instead. I have noticed he never seems to get cold at night though (I am always cold), and it never seems to affect his sleep. The only thing I can think of if he starts getting cold at night, is maybe buy more blanket sleepers a couple sizes bigger, and put a bigger one over the smaller one if it is that cold. Otherwise, with my son, when it is really cold out, I will leave his socks on so his feet don't get cold, and maybe instead of just a onsie underneath, sometimes a long sleeved shirt under the blanket sleeper. He never seems to have a problem though, it is just always me worrying because I know I would be cold. I think babies do better at staying comfortable than we do, maybe because of the extra fat they have. Also, we are used to having a blanket over us when we sleep, so part of it is just the comfort of always having it there, and they are used to sleeping without one, so maybe they just don't need it. If he starts getting to cold at night, he will probably wake up and let you know. Otherwise, don't worry about it too much. Good luck!

A blanket sleeper is just fine. If he's cold he'll let you know.

I had the same problem with my child when she was that age (still do, but now she is 5). If you live in an older home with a draft, like we do, I would try using a undershirt (coverall) under a long sleeve bodysuit (with feet) and a sleepsack blanket. You don't want to put layer on the bed because he can get tangled up in them. Babies R Us will probably have the best selection ranging in price, but I also that Target had many to choose from. Prices are pretty good too. If the cold continues to worry you, think about putting a small space heater in the room. The kind that will auto shut off if it is moved or knocked over. Walgreens had a small, safe one that I think was around $20. Good luck.

I would dress him in a Halo sleep sack.....covers/blankets in a crib are a SIDS hazard. We have friends who lost their 8 month old to SIDS and we put nothing other than babyin the cirb until 1 years....dress in a long sleeve shirt and sweats...or footy pjs and then in the sleep sack...even stockings can fall off and are a hazard to choking! We live in MN where it gets cld...but our little ones were dressed warm and were fine:)
You should buy a sleep sack, they sell them at babies R us, and they work great!
I think a lot of people use sleep sacks, available at BabiesRUs and other places, you can make your own, etc. I never used one myself, just dressed baby in layers. Good luck!
