My daughter will be turning 6 soon and wants to have her 3 best friends at her birthday party. We have been to about 10 B.D. parties lately and want to do something different but fun. We've done Parker Field house, Fitness One, Snip Its, Monkey Business, Pottery Place, etc. Any suggestions would be great, even suggestions regarding a stay at home party. Thanks

What can I do next?

I was also going to suggest the fancy, dress-up tea party. Another idea to add might be that they could decorate their own tiaras... you should be able to buy pretty simple ones and then let the girls glue on their favorite color rhinestones and sequins. Or you might buy plain straw tea party hats and let the girls decorate those with flowers, glittery things, boas, etc. I just think for this age the dress up thing is huge... also there is a book called Fancy Nancy all about a little girl who loves to dress up. YOu could read that with the girls. Also, there are tons of books online about how to throw a fun tea party. Have fun!

Checkout the website Birthdaypartyideas.com
or google Family Fun (it is a great magazine but
there is a website for the magazine and a book that
you could check out at the library). We are going
to do a hawaiian theme party for my daughter this
summer and got a TON of ideas. We are really excited!
They have great ideas of ALL kinds to do at home
or at a park.
Have Fun!

If you want to go somewhere My Art Workshop is fabulous! They are across from Southwest Plaza Mall and the kids can pick an art project from jewelry making to tie dye. With only 3 hey could even do two projects. The owners are VERY accomodating. (We had my daughters 5 yr party there)If you want to have something at your house, you can just pick a theme and go with it. (We are having a fancy tea party) if you google childrens party ideas there is a great website that pops up. It is free and filled with ideas for parties at home. There are wizard of oz parties, ladybug parties, cooking party ideas--you name it. Parents just write their whole party down from how they made the invites all the way to the goody bags--some very creative parents out there! Have fun!

Start the b-day party at your house but take a filed trip to
the fire station. Call in advance and they can set up a tour
of the fire station. They can explain how the fire people dress, where they sleep, show and explain the equipment on the truck. They have also have activities (on site) for educational purposes. And they may even give a ride on a fire truck for the kids. When I took my children, my kids even got plastic fire hats. It was one of the best birthday parties we ever had.

If your daughter is into "girly things" then a tea party would be really fun! The girls could dress up in fancy clothes, and you could just buy a few feather boas and fun plastic necklaces, etc. Call some friends and see if they have dresses, high heels, hats, gloves, etc. for the girls. Ask the girls' parents if it's okay to put on a little bit of make up so they're really fancy! Then the girls can decorate their own cupcakes and have their own little fancy tea party. You can take pictures and if you're able to print them off your computer, the girls can decorate a frame (you can get those foam ones from a craft store for cheap) and they can go home with a photo from the party in a frame as their favor. They can dance to music all dressed up and have a blast!

Just an idea! And it shouldn't be too expensive either - especially if you can borrow clothes and shoes, etc.

Gosh, at that age, you could do almost anything and they'll love it! How about taking them swimming at an indoor pool followed by lunch at a favorite restaurant? Or having them over to your house for a Make-It-Yourself Pizza party (just get pre-packaged crusts like Boboli, pizza sauce, cheese and toppings and have them make their own creations) followed by a movie (either at a theater or at your own home). Or have the girls come in their best dresses and have a lovely tea party with finger sandwiches, scones, etc (chocolate milk instead of real tea, of course). Or go to Build-A-Bear and lunch. Or have a kids' spa day (again either at your house done by you or at a salon that caters to kids) and do their nails and hair (styling only, no cutting!) I'm actually getting excited for my own girls' parties just writing about this! Since it's only your daughter and 3 friends, your options are limitless. You could do almost anything and it won't break the bank or drain all your energy. I did a tea party for my daughter for her 6th and had 10 girls at my home. Although it was an awesome party and lots of fun, it was also lots of work and I'm STILL exhausted (even though it was 1 1/2 years ago!). With only 4 girls to entertain, you could really go all out!! Have fun with this one!!!
