Get some of those little mitts for her hands. She won't be able to scratch herself or pull her hair.
So my 6 week old was born with really long beautiful golden hair (about 2 in) and when she gets put down for sleep she sometimes ( 3 times yesterday ) gets her hand by her head and pulles her hair. I know she is too young to know what she is doing just that it hurts her like crazy and her poor cry that comes when she does it, but I didnt know if there was anything I could besides cutting her hair (which I refuse!! :-) I thought about letting her sleep w a beenie on but her head sweats too much when they are on her, so she never wears one. Any ideas? or just deal with it until she gets a little older? The hardest part is its right when she is about to fall asleep sometimes and as you can imagine that jolts her back awake. Thanks ladies ;-)
I dont know why I didnt think of the mittens, thanks ladies ((HUGS)) oh na dshe doesnt pull it out, just pulls at it and it hurts her, so no bald patches

Put those cute little hand mitts on her hands that are designed to keep babies from scratching their face. They may keep her from getting a good grip on her hair.
Put the little mittens on her hands.
If that does not work... please just cut her hair! IT will grow back. however if she keeps pulling it out, some of it may not!!! This happened to my friends son, and now they just keep his head shaved. So for the sake of vanity for the rest of her life, give up the vanity now at 6 weeks old and cut it!
Most babies are born bald and they are still beautiful.
A 5-10-20 yr old with bald patches... ?
you could put those mittens on her hands.. my son pulled his long newborn hair a couple times so I know the kind of cry you mean....very heartbreaking!
socks or mittens on the hands, all I can think of.
