How often and for how long does your 6 month old sleep? Are they still swaddled? Do you think its true that some babies just take "cat naps"? Thanks !

What can I do next?

There really is no right answer to this :) Every kids is SOOOO different when it comes to naps. Some of my kids were great nappers, one of my kids NEVER napped for more than 15 minutes at a time (until she turned 3, then turned into the best napper). My most recent experience was with my granddaughter who lived with me at that age (19 mo old now). She was not a super good napper, but would "usually" nap in the morning, in the early afternoon, and a catnap in the early evening. I will say that none of my kids liked swaddling at that age.

Good luck!

My son we still had to swaddle past 6 months because that was the only way he would go to sleep (eventually when he was older we did the cry it out method), and he would never sleep for very long. He didn't start sleeping through the night until we was about a year old.

My daughter would rather be cuddled then actually swaddled but if you put her in fleece she was content and happy and she loves taking naps.

So it varies on the child and what works for you and your child.

Our son didn't like swaddling for very long - at 8 weeks old he was done with it.
He was a great napper and will still take a nap after school sometimes (he's 16 now).

I think at 6 months we were only doing two naps. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. My babies varied on their length of naps, but our goal was always two hours per nap and I generally tried harder on the afternoon nap. We swaddled our two youngest at that age, although maybe not a tight "official" swaddle.

Good luck!
