Has anyone tried these? Do these really work? Do they make you feel shaking and jittery? And what about when they wear off, do you feel even more tired than you did before?
I remember awhile back, hearing about a guy that died after drinking one. Does anyone know if thats true?
We're leaving for a trip to FL Friday evening and we'll be driving straight through the night and I'm trying to think of ways to keep us awake on the road.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

5hr energy is the equivalant to a cup of coffee + Vitamin B Complex.

Sundown makes a vitamin B complex (sublingual) and it's much less expensive than the 5hr energy... Then, drink a cup of coffee. I buy my B complex (sublingual) @ CVS. This week I found it for $9.99- Buy one get one @ 50%. So for 112 doses you've only spent $15. Where ONE dose of 5hr energy seems to run roughly $5 ea.

I think you'd be better off with coffee. My hubby has lots of patients who try it and end up in the ER, feeling like they're having a heart attack. Don't need that while you are driving.

I took one the other day and it did not make me jittery at all. I had the berry flavor and man was it sour and i puckered up a ton. However, I will take one again if I need to.

All those drinks can overtax your kidneys. Stay away from them. Stick to coffee or caffeinated tea.

I took it once and didn't notice any affect at all - no more energy, but no jitters or anything either. I stick with my Diet Coke!

I'd blast the AC, drink some coffee or a huge Coke, make a mix of favorite songs, think of all the things you could talk about, and try & get some extra sleep before hand.

The only person I've ever seen drink one of these was my younger cousin after an all-nighter in Vegas.

It's caffeine and a multivitamin. You'd be better off just getting coffee.

Buy some tootsie roll pops or suckers and some snacks. If your doing something like eating while driving it keeps you awake. I have always taken snacks and this year was the first time with tootsie roll pops and it worked.
My friend did a 5 hour energy shot on girls trip once and she was giggly. I think she said it woke her up but when it wore off, she was very tired.
Have fun in Florida! night driving is much better than day driving.
I didn't hear anything about someone dieing after drinking an energy drink. Although, it can happen and theres always that one person.
