4.5 Wks Pregnant - Why Do I Already Feel "Dizzy"? Is That Normal???

Ok- I almost feel like this is in my head because I just found out that I'm pregnant 5 days ago. This is my 2nd pregnancy (3rd if you count a miscarriage 3 years ago) and I don't remember feeling like this at all! I'm already very tired, but only in the afternoon, at night I'm normal (well as normal as I can be). Now, my head is feeling somewhat dizzy or numb and I have to stable myself when I'm walking. Could I just be getting a cold or could this pregnancy be nothing like my sons, where other than being tired the first trimester, I was completely symtom free.

Also, please keep us in your prayers - we've been ttc over three years now and had completely given up. And now, low and behold - My son's going to be a big brother!!! I am so happy and want to make sure that I'm doing all that I can to ensure this baby comes out happy and healthy.

What can I do next?

Congrats! So happy for you. I am 7 weeks along myself. I get dizzy. It's normal. I read somewhere that you total body fluid has already increased by 10% by a month pregnant, so now is the time to ensure that you are drinking plenty of H20. I am working on this and I find it is helping. I also avoid sudden sitting up or standing from a squatting position (which I do more than I realize, when you've got a toddler your're always picking something up, tying a shoelace, whatever).

Congratulations on your pregnancy! There's one thing you might want to look into - run a blood test to see your iron level - I have hereditary anemia and it got worse when I was pregnant and it can cause extreme fatigue and dizziness...
I was taking an iron supplement in addition to the prenatal vitamin to keep my iron level up. Some women just experience pregnancy induced anemia - a simple blood test can help rule that out..All the best to you!

I was dizzy only in 1st trimester. That's how I found out I was pregnant with my 1st - I passed out! It's ok that you didn't have this problem with the 1st. All 3 of my pregnancies had thier own little surprises. :) You could join Babycenter.com to get advice and emails that follow you throu your pregnancy. And get your hands on a copy of "What to Expect When Your Expecting" for when those little worries pop up.

Congratulations!
I'm not a doctor so if this is causing you alot of worry then maybe a quick trip to your doctor might help.
Saying that with my pregnancy I had symptoms straight away-from tiredness, aches and pain, heighten smell and severve morning sickness.I was one of those women that had bad morning sickness all the way through and had a perfect healthy baby boy.
Each pregnancy is different so I wouldn't rule any symptoms out.
Congratulations again,
Positive Vibes

Yup, totally normal. It effects equalibrium which means you may feel dizzy and even lose your balance. When I was pregnant with my daughter I would be walking down the hall and all of the sudden be tipped over up against the wall because I lost my balance. It's pretty uncomfortable but also really normal.

Maybe you are having twins. Don't worry, I was dizzy in the beganing also but am now 3 months pregnant and baby is fine. Try to increase your water intake and see if that helps. My thoughts are with you.

I was diagnosed with vertigo with my second!! I couldn't sit, stand, sleep, eat, ANYTHING!! It was so early in the pregnancy that they had no idea I was pregnant...it went away after a few days. I did not have it with my other two, so maybe it just comes with stubborn babies :o). He is my middle and most stubborn!! Hopefully it will pass and you are definitely in my prayers for a healthy baby!!!!
