P.D.
Clinique is actually pretty conservate. It's MAC which I would say is too young. Many wear clinique into their 60s or 70s. I would still recommend it. Maybe you would you feel more comfortable with Lancome or Mary Kay.
I prefer department store makeup but clinique seems too young(left my skin stinging and the colors they chose were too bright/clownish)and estee lauder was smelly. what brand and products are good for dry, pale skin?

Bare Minerals. AWESOME make-up. Wish I tried it sooner.
I'm 47 and loving me some Aveeno tinted moisturizer!
I still use Clinique. I had to change the base I was using several years ago because my skin went - zap! - from oily to dry. But I'm still happy with the brand. I use their skin care routine and a moisturizing makeup base - as moisturizing as I can get it.
My mama started me on Clinique long ago. On her eightieth birthday, she looked at herself in the mirror, got in the car, drove to the mall, went to the Clinique counter in Neiman-Marcus, and asked, "Do you have anything that will make an eighty-year-old woman look sixty?" She was very happy with what she bought, so she encouraged me to try it, too. I was probably about your age at the time!
I'm 49 and I've used Clinique since I was about 11. They have products for all ages. I now use the Repairwear series laser focus, youth surge day/night and eye creme.
Clinique ages as you do. I still get guessed as in early - mid 30's. I am also blessed with great genes.
I believe the product works for you IF you have the daily routine and follow it.
My 16 yr old uses Clinique as well and she has flawless skin ( better than mine, lol) due to a rigid facial schedule twice daily.
We live Clinique and won't stop using it. It works well for us. In the rare event we don't like something... They are great at exchanging it. I can't say enough about it positively.
You can still wear clinique. I can't wear it because it makes my skin absolutely RAW, but it's not too young.
I am a huge fan of Aveda cosmetics. I love their tinted moisturizer, mascara, bronzer and lip glosses, and eye shadow. Aveda brushes are also wonderful.
I hope you find something that you love!
for a moisturizer, I LOVE Dr. Hauschka Rose Cream (regular) not lite...
it's great and before I EVER use any foundation, I put that on... it really gives my skin great moisture without making it greasy.. it's pricey, but so worth it. on occasion, Whole Foods will have it on sale. I believe this happens about ever 6 months as I think the agreement with Hauschka is that they don't want old product on the shelf, which is also why they use a smaller container.... this way, it doesn't get old while sitting on the shelf at home..
best of luck
I am late 30's...I cannot bare to spend department store prices. I have a fair mix of Avon, Neutrogena and L'Oreal. I REALLY like the Bare Naturale mineral line that L'Oreal has. I use that blusher, and foundation( in powder form) and concealer( in powder form) They come with the brushes you need and are great quality, so much so that it seems a shame to toss them, although it lasts a really long time. I do not find the mineral line at all drying in the least to my skin. For eye make up I like a variety and that is where I go back and forth between Netrogena and Avon. I really like Avon's eye shadow and eye liners. I could not live without Neutrogena's moisturizer. I think sometimes it takes experimenting a little to see what works best for you, although I would not have thought Clinique would be too young for you!
Love shiseido and laMer skin care. Different brands for make up. recently tried slama kayak line at cvs and it was very nice, loved the price!!! As for makeup, don't use anything powder because it makes the skin look older.
I've used Clinique for many years. I'm 50 now. I don't know what about the brand seems "young". If the products you've been using aren't working as well, I've had good luck getting advice from one of their reps.
