Just another preparation stage. With my first one this happened around 34 weeks and I had no clue what it was (despite having gone to a LC-run breastfeeding class, they never even mentioned this!).
What does this mean. Labor will start soon or just another preperation stage.
Thanks,
First time Mom
Just another preparation stage. With my first one this happened around 34 weeks and I had no clue what it was (despite having gone to a LC-run breastfeeding class, they never even mentioned this!).
Mine started when I was about 14 or 15 weeks. I didnt have her until I was 41 weeks. Its just your body getting ready but its not a sign of labor
Good Luck and Congrats
You are so close already....but leaking doesn't mean you will begin labor soon. It means your body is getting ready to nurse a baby!! (I sure hope you choose to do so! Your body and your baby will be healthier if you do!)
Congrats on your Blessing!!
Just another stage...I always leak about 3 weeks before.
You're so lucky... mine start at about 10 weeks!!!
I was about 39 weeks when mine started leaking, but I didn't go into labor till I was just over 40 weeks.
Unfortunately, it's just mother nature playing another cruel joke by getting your hopes up.
It would be so nice if it was a sign of labor, but it's just a preparation stage. :) Mine start even earlier than that. And I've heard of moms who even have their milk come in before baby is born. But exciting! Good luck to you!
Mine started to leak a few months before delivery - the day after my baby shower :) Things are just coming online to get ready for the baby down the road. It seems like a good omen for breastfeeding success! Time to get some disposable nursing pads and maybe a nighttime soft nursing bra if the leaking is leaving unwanted moisture and marks on things. I say disposable pads, because I used (and washed) the cotton reusable ones and got thrush (ouch!) Congrats and enjoy first time mama!
I think I always started leaking colostrum (the thin, watery, pre-milk fluid) at least a week before I went into labor.
It's a sign that your body is getting ready to feed a baby, but you could still be a little ways off (a week or more still).
This is normal. Your body is producing milk and since you are not breastfeeding yet it needs some where to go and you leak. I can't remember when I started but I do remember I was doing the dishes and looked down and there where spots on my shirt.
Congrats!!!
sounds normal to me!!
Just preparation... I have had some leakage since about 28 weeks with both of my pregnancies. It is a good thing, because it will help you get ready to breastfeed. Keep an eye out for all the signs of labor (water breaking, contractions, a baby between your legs- just kidding!)
hehehe- but don't make too much out of the leakage. Unless you are on bedrest or something, you can try some of those old fashioned "methods" for jump starting labor now that you are in the safety "zone". Walk like crazy, eat spicy foods, make love vigorously, etc.... but remember, that baby will probably come exactly when he or she wants to, and not a minute sooner or a minute later!
Good Luck!

Mine leaked by the time I was 30 weeks... I didn't deliver until I was 41 weeks along. :P
