This is how my younger daughter was with her body temp falling way below normal, back to fever again, etc. etc. She was checked for mono several times (all negative). They found her white cell count "normal" when she was obviously sick, BUT....They did find, when this craziness was not going on, she had neutropenia -- low white cell count. That would mean she had a compromised immune system. But why? Good question. We knew she had allergies, but that's all.
Fast forward some years and we found she did have some minor hypothalamic dysfunction. The hypothalamus regulates sleep, body temperature, some hormones, affects mood, and more. Again, But WHY?
I cannot say for sure, but going back to the allergies, she does have a problem with foods which the allergist did not catch because he only did the IgE testing. She had intestinal malabsorption from the problems and that was IgA and IgG. She cannot have gluten and dairy.
I cannot say she is completely well now, but she is a lot better.
