Hi.....After no success with 3 rounds of clomid....my doctor is suggesting IUI. I got pregnant with my first only after 1st round clomid. What are your experiences with IUI?
I have two boys from doing IUI with Clomid. The first pregnancy happened on the second month and the second pregnancy took five months of IUI with Clomid. Best thing we ever did!
Has he/she suggested a HSG test to see if your tubes are clear? I had 3 rounds of clomid without any luck and then an hsg test done. They inject your tubes with ink to see if there's a blockage and a lot of times, it clears minor blockage. I was pregnant the same month! My DD is 2 1/2 now.
My sister tried IUI once and didn't get pregnant with it. A month later she got pregnant on her own.
My sister got pregnant right away (2nd try I think) with IUI (and clomid).
My best friend tried IUI 3 or 4 times with no success. Her doctor had her do that before she even tried clomid.
Not that you asked about this specifically, but I have had 3 friends who have taken Clomid for their first pregnancies (and another who never got pregnant, after 10 years of trying). None of them were getting pregnant with Clomid and then they stopped all treatments and then all of them ended up getting adjusted by a local chiropractor over a span of about 6 months and ALL of them got pregnant. My friend who tried for 10 years laughed when she was told that getting adjusted might end up making her fertile and be careful is she didn't want to get pregnant. She didn't believe her, and within 4 months, she was pregnant.
My mom had 8 miscarriges and then started getting adjusted and I was her 9th pregnancy and first full term pregnancy.
I've had other friends use acupuncture. And yet, another friend did IUI and just had her baby, but she was also getting adjusted.

i tried IUI twice, and so did a few of my friends. none of us got pregnant with it. in fact after 2 rounds when my doctor suggested one more round i said nope, done, onto invitro.
after i got pregnant through invitro he said that IUI is usually not successful. but i guess they have to go through all options (whether to make money or to spare patients from spending too much on invitro) i don't know, but i personally do not recommend IUI.
