Hey girls~
My baby girl has what I believe is a hemoroid. Does anyone know what to do to make it go away and to help her with the pain? She is a tough little girl. She does get Tylenol, and I put some PrepH cream on her bottom. What else can I do? Anyone???

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well Ladies~
I called her nurse and she told me to put DARK Carol Syrup in her formula start at a tsp and work up to a tbl spoon. If she didn't loosen up by the end of the week to make another appt. Than I mentioned the hemeroid she asked how soon I could come in. I got in that morning Doc said that indeed it was a hemrroid and to put Hydrocortizon on it. Everything is working so far so good. Thank you all for your advice and I hope this helps some one else with this problem.
Thanks again! ~B.

Please take her to see the doctor. My niece had a metabolic disorder that she could not properly digest either mother's milk or store-bought formula. Her stools were so hard to pass that she had what appeared to be hemmerhoids but it was actually the lower end of her large intestine being forced outside the body with the stool movement. We had to learn how to tuck things back in place and she had to be put on a prescription formula.

I would take her to the doctor and have it checked out. It seems awfully young for that but I may be wrong. The doctor's office should be able to make some suggestions on what to do for your child.

Hi B.,
I would try warm baths and warm compress that might help with her discomfort. Also have her check by her doctor.

Please, call the doctor before you put anything else (even more PrepH) on her bum. If it is a hemoroid (sp?), that means the blood vessels are very close to the skin, and so more of anything is absorbed into her bloodstream. What is perfectly safe for an adult or even older child can be bad for a baby. And you can't just half the dose, their whole metabolism is different (this goes for ANY medication whether its traditional, herbal, or homeopathic; topical or oral; anything!) And if it's not a hemoroid, the doctor needs to look at it and determine what it is so she can be treated properly. Acutally, even if it is a hemoroid, she should be seen. I don't think they're common in babies, and you should find out what is causing it.

I agree, this is something I would definitely call a pediatrician about....they can help with the pain, possible diet changes or stool softeners. Poor little thing!

I would take her to your pediatrician. When my brother was a baby (about your daughter's age), he had similar symptoms. His got worse and turned into an abscess (sp?). It ended up that he had a hole in his bowle and had to have surgery.

Good luck!
