Yes. It's tight, but you can do it. If you can swing it, rent a minivan. It will be MUCH easier on all of you!

I would call the rental company and ask them. I'm sure they've been asked this question before. You might want to opt for a minivan.

Just because a car has 3 seat-belts across the seat does not mean it will fit 3 standard booster seats! Booster seats can be very wide. I remember riding in the back of a minivan with my niece and nephew in their booster seats. My butt did not fit, and I had to ride on the edge of the seat. Thankfully it was a short trip!

This is a good question for the rental car company. If they know your needs ahead of time, they can better meet your needs so you are off and on your way in a timely manner!

I do all the car rentals and planning for our company and if I need extra storage, etc for golf clubs, etc I make sure I state up front that I need the space and then when hubby gets to his destination, there is no red tape to go through.

Boosters should be ok in a car like a Pilot or something that size. I would tell rental rental car you need one that will fit three seats.

I would call the car rental companies to ask them. I'm sure they've had people with 3 boosters before, so they should know what types of cars they have that can accomodate them.

ETA: I agree with Gidget that 3 belts doesn't necessarily mean that 3 boosters will fit. Once we have our 4th kid, we won't be able to take any extra passengers in our 7 passenger minivan, because there is no room in the 3rd row (seats 3) for more than 2 boosters.

If the car or truck has three seatbelts, it will sit three booster seats. If it has four seatbelts it will seat four booster seats.

Good luck to you and yours.

IMO, it depends on what kind of boosters. Are they the high-backs that need seat belts? Or are they latched in using the harness? I have a Ford Escape, and I had one latched car seat in the middle with a high-back booster using a seat belt on one side, and a regular backless booster using a seat belt on the other. It was a pretty big pain in the butt having to move the boosters to get the seat belts buckled, but for a few days, it worked.

It also depends on what kind of seat belts the car has. Many cars don't have a shoulder belt in the middle.

We have been trying to solve that dilemma, too. I read about a booster bench in Europe, but it's super expensive! But then I found these: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003GQ0LQ8/ref=asc_df_B003GQ0LQ8.... If the link doesn't work, these are inflatable booster seats by a company called BubbleBum. As soon as my two youngest, my twins, turn four, I will be investing in three of these! They sound great for travelling!

I have a Honda Civic, and I've squeezed 3 in the back before. It's not easy, but it can be done.

Sure, just get a large vehicle. Ages 5+ would be OK )(if child is 40+ lbs. and can sit properly in one) but I'd bring a harnessed seat for under 5. Harmony Defender is narrow. For boosters I'd go high-back unless it's older kids...7,8,9 etc. for travel. Also then you don't have to worry about the vehicle having a headrest for each child, just in case, depending on the seat and if the booster requires a headrest or not.. Of course, I don't know the ages. Have a good trip!

I think an SUV for sure and probably a larger regular car, but I'd go with an SUV or minivan to be safest. I have a Honda Pilot and I can fit 3 booster seats across the back. My youngest is still in a regular car seat so I have done two boosters and a car seat. It works but I usually have to help the kid in the middle buckle b/c it's a bit squished. If the seats have arms on them, you should take those off if you can.

IF the car is full size to fit 3 regular adults in the back without that hump in the middle, a flat bench like seat, then they'll fit. IF that seat has that hump they won't fit and sit straight. The middle one will tip each time you turn a corner and might even do it when you go around a curve. If you are renting an SUV get one that has a 3rd row. That will have a lot more room inside.

Like a Crown Vic, they have room for 3 larger hineys side by side in the back seat. They're made to fit adults comfortably. But most cars today are made narrower and they don't ever expect to have more than 2 in the back seat even though they put 3 seatbelts in the back they don't expect anyone but perhaps a child to sit between the 2 adults.

As long as the middle seat is flat has a shoulder belt, you can put a booster in that position.
