P.D.
I know you have received a lot of advice already, but to add my two-cents worth, my son's cradlecap disappeared after I started using California Baby Calming Shampoo and Bodywash.
My daughter has very very white thin hair...so all summer I have been putting sun block on it.. now it seems like she has cradlecap, yellowish brownish looks like little scabs. I have since forced her to wear hats but I dont know how to get rid of it. It looks like the hair has stopped growing on top also. I have been told numerous things and i dont know whats right. Any suggestions... ??

My daughter had the same thing.. I rubbed baby oil into her scalp and then ran a fine comb through her hair. It worked wondefuly.
Hi! My daughter had cradle cap when she was little as well. We bought "Little Forest Baby Shampoo" for Cradle Cap Care. It is a natural shampoo safe for babies. I bought it at Kelesys baby store located in Pearl City. It is behind Cutter Ford in the big shopping center located on the left in Pearl City. It work almost instantely. I still use it today if I notice she starts to get dandruff. I highly recommend it! It is kind of high (twelve dollars for a small bottle) but it worked so fast my daughter is almost two and I still have half a bottle! I used it daily to. So don't think it is a bad deal because it really last a long time!! Good luck
PS. They recommend the oil to be used with it but I never needed it! It worked just fine on my daughter with out the oil.
Everyone has given you great advice.. the only added thing I can say is just to make sure that when you wash your daughter's hair, make sure all the shampoo is out. My daughter is a toe-head too and we have the same problem. Our pediatrician told us it was just excess shampoo buildup.
both of my kids had cradle cap when they were infants. I tried a few things (like the mineral oil and comb kits) and other stuff people suggested but nothing worked except head and shoulders. I use head and shoulders dry scalp on myself anyway so I just used a little tiny bit at bath time and it was gone within a week or so and didn't come back. I've heard some pediatricians recommend it as well. If her hair is thin and she has a sensitive scalp, maybe it's just a summer thing and it will clear up on it's own.
You didn't mention a diaper rash, but if the cradle cap is accompanied by a diaper rash it could be an allergic reaction. My son had cradle cap and a bad diaper rash, the pediatrician gave me a cream to put on his head, but it was another mother that told me it was an allergic reaction. I took him to an allergy doctor and they quickly found he was allergic to cow's milk. Since I was breast feeding that meant I couldn't have any dairy products for awhile. The cradle cap went away, the diaper rash cleared up, and he out grew the allergic reaction.
i used head and shoulders shampoo worked great
You should take her to her pediatrician. They may even send you to a special dermatologist. That is honestly better than trying to correct it yourself. What you are doing may make it worse.
Hi
I would suggest to use baby oil and a fine tooth comb prior to bathing her that should help....
This happened with both of my daughters. I bought every "cradle cap" shampoo on the shelves. none of them worked. I asked their pediatricion what to do. She said get a dandruff shampoo like Denorex or T-gel. Use a very little amount because they are strong (make sure it doesn't get in her eyes). Lather it up and with a fine tooth comb. gently comb the hair. Rinse it out. I had to do this for about a week and it was gone. Good luck!
Hi A. -
Use Arbonne's ABC hair and body wash, followed by rubbing in the ABC body oil. It really works on cradle cap and eczema. It's worth a try, Arbonne has a 45-day money back guarantee. You can purchase at www.4betterhealth.myarbonne.com and you should get within 3-5 days.

Hi A., Here is a website that gives good advice on how to remove cradle cap. I did this with my babies and it works quite well.

Baby oil works well too, and is convenient as you already have some in your baby supplies.

Dear A.,
TAKE YOUR DAUGHTER TO THE DOCTOR ASAP!
Hi Ann,
Cradle cap is normal and can occur up to 16 or even 36 months. Make sure that you keep her skin moist. I used an aloe lotion with my son. Then take a little comb and gently comb off the loose skin. Do not pick at it or it can cause bleeding. It will take a little bit to get it to go away. Also, make sure that you have a hat on her at all times what out in the sun.
I hope this helps.
PS if you are looking for a good lotion that is gentle enough for you baby you can get it at my site. Look for aloe lotion or vitamin C lotion.

I tried a lot of creams and shampoos to get rid on my baby's cradle cap- and the best thing was to douse her head in olive oil. Yes OLIVE OIL! It worked great! I just combed out the scabs after the olive oil. She will have an oily head, but it works better than baby oil.
You need to speak to yor pediatrician about this as there might be something else going on. However, when our daughter had this we put baby oil on her head, let it soak in for a few minutes then used a soft baby brush to gently exfoliate the area. Then we rinsed it off and washed her hair with baby shampoo. We had to do this for several days. Her hair was a bit greasy for a while but then everything cleared up. Hope this helps.
