What are you substituting in place of Similac during this recall? My 9 month old does not like Enfamil and I'm worried about switching to another formula because he has a very sensitive tummy. Thanks, in advance, for your advice!

What can I do next?

I am using the Similac concentrated/liquid ready to go formula instead of the powder. Only the powder formula was affected by the recall.

We are using the liquid Similac. My little guy got constipated on Enfamil so I am not going to bother changing formulas.

I'm using liquid Similac. It's not part of the recall.

We used Similac Alimentum, that is really good for sensitive tummies and also Nestle Good Start is really good and very gentle on tummies too!

Nothing else works for my 6 month old (Similac Sensitive RS), so I'm just doing the ready to feed expensive stuff for a while. Hopefully they get their act together very soon!

Target has a house generic of Similac.

The liquid and the powder in the smaller cans was not part of the recall - just the plastic tubs...right now we're using the liquid...

You can try Nestle Good Start. It's a very good formula but the most expansive.

My 16 month old who is very picky drank the Isomil Go and Grow soy formula (It's for toddlers 12months-2 yrs, but part of the recall) twice a day for nutritional value. When the recall happened his pediatrician said Good Start is a good alternative and many children end up liking it better. If you have any Similac left, my son's pediatrician also said not to switch "cold turkey," but gradually instead. If you don't have any Similac left, it won't be a major deal to switch but your child may experience some stomach discomfort for a day or 2. Hope this helps!

Nestle Good Start is very good. I switched my daughter and son from Similac to Good Start when they were getting constipated. They adjusted really well. ShopRite has sales on it a lot and has coupons. The formula is not expensive.

My daughter had a sensitive stomach too. After trying Enfamil and Similac, I finally went to Nestle Good Start (now owned by Gerber). I went to the Soy Plus and have had great luck with that. I think all of the "Good Start's" are better on their stomach.

I started my daughter on Similac because that is what the hospital gave her. However, she started having stomach problems after a month or so. Several people (including a pediatric nurse) said Good Start is gentler on infant stomachs. So I switched to GS, and we never had issues after that.
