We blend Black Strap Molasses in our son's milk for iron and his levels were just right. One tablespoon in 32 oz. , which he almost drinks in a 24 hour period. Rainbow Light makes the best vitamins(not sweetened with sugar like a lot of those commercial brands and no artificial colors)-you can find them at Whole Foods or any good health food store.

The best natural cures seem to be raisins(even raisinettes), blackstrap molasses, and red meat. Red meat can include beef hot dogs. Spinach is great too if you can find a way to get her to eat it. Since I don't know which foods she willingly eats, I can't give advice on how to add these to her diet. I do know that in many cases the natural iron-rich foods get absorbed better than the iron supplements do.
Best wishes,
E.

I have anemia... broccoli, beans (pinto, black, etc), liver. Broccoli and beans will be easy to feed to your child... add cheese to the broccoli and the beans, well the broth has more of the nutrients, so you could have her eat the beans and the broth you could mix it in with some other food. I grew up eating beans a lot, as it is a staple in Mexican cuisine, and we often had it in a bowl with cheese sprinkled on top... queso fresco, or yellow cheese will do, or mozarrella(sp?). Spinich is another food. Try the flinstones vitamins, pretty much any vitamin has a good amount of iron. Also, whole grain cereals tend to have more iron, I have noticed anyway. Just watch the labels on the boxes.

P.S. You don't want to overload your girl with iron either, too much iron is not good. Make sure you are giving her the right amounts of iron. Usually if you are going to do it with food, you should do alright. Ask your doctor how much iron she needs. That is really important.

I think flinstones now have them with iron that you can get. I know there are alot of different gummie vitamins out that my kids love! I go to Walmart but you can go to Walgreens or CVS. If you can't find them with iron try GNC.

I would greatly recommend Juice Plus for your little one. This is a natural food product, not a supplement or a vitamin. There have been seventeen (17) fruits and vegetables dried and put in various forms: shakes everyone, gummies for toddlers, chewables for the older kids and those that don't like capsules and then there are the capsules. This day and age, it's really hard for any one to get the fruits and vegetables they are supposed to, so Juice Plus helps tremendously. I not only sell Juice Plus, but my husband and I take it, both my children and all my grandchildren take it too. If you're interested, go to my website: www.judysharesjuiceplus.com and check out the various products and numerous medical professionals that highly recommend the product. Don't hesitate to contact me should you have questions. Good luck!
