Hi, we had similar situation and after few trips to the doctor office, an antibiotic course for sinus infection ,we finally figured it out - it was allergy. So, before anything else take her to be checked for allergies.
My 2 year old started daycare 8 months ago and ever since his nose has been running almost non-stop for 8 months. There has been a week here and there where it stops, but otherwise, it's running constantly. He usually has no other symptoms - no fever or other signs of a cold. I asked the doctor about this about 5 months ago but she said it's because of the exposure to the new germs from other kids and it's normal. But since it's still happening, I want to make sure it's not a food allergy or some other possible issue. Has anyone had a similar experience? Thank you!

Your doctor is right about the introduction of new viruses into his system. If you are still concerned, take your son back to the doctor and ask again.
He/she is could check for allergens in his environment if you are concerned about that.
But some kids just have runny noses as they grow up, especially in the northwest. Sigh....
wow.. this is a first.. no other responses before my post.
I think some kids are just 'runnier' than most.
They seem to catch everything.
I used to watch a child 2 days a week almost the same age as my son (at the time = 6months to almost 2yrs) and the other boy always,. always,.always.. had a runny nose... however,. my son never seemed to get 'anything'.
The other guy was in daycare at a club w/ a pool and other kids.
At first, I was a bit dismayed by it.. runny nose means a cold and or worse,. but after a little while realized.. unless it was a "green" gumbus mess.. it was just not so much as a big deal.
For the most part,. it still bothered me.. but.. my son was still not feeling - down, slowed, or bothered.
I think kids pick up a lot of 'minor' colds from other places and it's just their bodies fighting off the germs.
So.. This is your 2 yr Old fighting off the stuff BOLDLY :) and doing well.
If you have a history of Allergens in your family, check on it, otherwise his body is doing it's very best for now.
All that said - it's no fun and dismaying to have to deal with a constant runny nose.
I have tried to teach my other son now almost 3yr old to use his tissues - which I have placed in his pockets and to use them himself. (hahaha)
I'm not sure if I have helped your question.. problem or allergies.? All I can say is. I feel the same way with my younger son. He seems 'runnier' than the first & is it exposure or allergies.?
However,. my first thoughts are not food allergies..but household or other allergens.
Right there with you -similar experience.
lots of luck :)

I've had the exact same problem with my now 2 1/2 year old. It was particularly bad last year. My pediatrician maintains it is simply child care runny nose. She said they usually get past it after 2 winter seasons in child care. Sure enough, this winter was nothing compared to last winter. And I saw the same thing with my older son - although he got downright sick. But after two winters, he hardly ever got sick.
Time and lots of tissues worked for us.

I too would suspect allergies if there are no other symptoms such as fever or malaise. I would boost his antioxidants. They can really help with both his immune system and allergies. Vitamin C, is the most common, but there are better ways to get a lot of antioxidants than supplementing. Berries are a powerhouse of antioxidants. Blueberries, black berries, strawberries, all kinds. And we are coming up on summer and there are lots of U pick places that you can get them for much cheaper than the store. I freeze them for the winter and get them out as I use them. Also getting him to drink pure filtered water, not bottled, but filtered. We got an under the counter reverse osmosis system and love it. They are kind of expensive but I found mine on craigs list luckily. But the water tastes so much better, doesn't have toxic flouride or chlorine in it, and is more convenient than even getting the big jugs refilled at the store, which I did for years before I got my system. But keeping him hydrated with water is far superior to sugary juices, even fruit juices. It is better to eat the whole fruit, and get the fiber with the juice, than to drink just the juice. Besides the juices you buy have been pasteurized so all the vitamins and antioxidants are destroyed. Cutting as much sugar out of his diet as possible will also help. Sugar cripples your immune system. If he will eat any veggies raw, they are full of vitamins and antioxidants too, but again, if they are cooked, those get destroyed. Well I hope something I said helps. Good luck and good health.
