Hi, Our son is turning 2 in October and we'd like to celebrate his birthday somewhere indoors that will accomodate an age group of 2-5 years old and in or near San Jose. We've looked into the Little Gym, Gymboree, The Jungle, The Discovery Museum, and Pump it Up Jr. We are looking for more suggestions or feedback if you have gone to any other theese places for a two year old birthday party.
Thank

We've had parties for both my son & daughter at The Little Gym (TLG). I've also been to parties at all of the other places you mentioned.

What I like about TLG it is that you are the only party during your alloted time, so you are not competing with the general public for staff time. The birthday child is treated in a special way and all the guests have a lot of fun running around in a safe environment. The birthday program is well-structured and the staff does a great job of drawing the kids into each activity.

The Gymboree parties are similar in that you are the only party at that time, but I found that the kids are not quite as drawn into the activities and they don't have a party room to go into after the activities. I think for only 2 year olds, Gymboree would be good. But sicne you are having 2 - 5, I would recommend The Little Gym.

Happy Hollow Park & Zoo is great, but I think they may be closed for renovation during your party time...check with them. It accommodates many age ranges...

I strongly urge you not to have your party at The Jungle. It's great for the older kids, but the little ones want to climb all through the tubes and nets but shouldn't be left on their own in there. Even with an older cousin it was worrysome. They have a smaller person's area, but it's not nearly so exciting as the rest of the place.
Have you considered a "Build-a-bear" party? They'll give the smaller kids the help they need to complete their bear. Just a suggestion...

Good question! Both my sons are turning 4 & 5 this year in October and November. I've heard about all the suggestions you had, but have been looking for something else as well. Will you let me know if you hear any good ideas?

Thanks!

C.

How about buying a little trampoline with an enclosure or a smallish jumping house and having your party at home or a park where you can keep it more intimate and watch those little folks?
Have fun!!!

T.,

I think you've pretty much found all the in door places your going to be able to find, outside of the dreaded Chuckie Cheeses! You could try some gymnastics clubs. They have age appropriate parties, with plenty of activities for the kids to do! I had a party for one of my son's second birthday at a gymnastics club, and it was a blast! Everybody slept good that day!

Good luck!
