2 Year Old B-day Ideas?!?!

My son's birthday is in December, but we're already racking our brains trying to figure out what to do for it. He will be 2, so I don't feel the need to "go all out." However, we're struggling with coming up with a good idea. He actually has "friends" now, so we want them to have something to do. Last year, there wasn't much room to walk around our house, but that was okay because the kiddos were just learning how to walk. They need room to move, and we need something to hold their interests. Since it's winter, we can't plan something outside, which would be much less expensive. Everything I've looked for is either too old for a 2 year old or way way too expensive.

I don't need help on themes because we already have a few to choose from. We just don't know what in the world to do. Does anyone have a winter child b-day that can give me some ideas? Thanks so much!!

What can I do next?

The Zoo and Celebration are both great ideas - I've been to parties at both and they are fun.

My pricier suggestion is Emler Swim School - they have an indoor heated pool, and it would be fun for the kiddos to swim that time of year. Of course, at that age, the parents would have to swim too, but most would enjoy it. I think there are other places similar to this in the Keller area as well.

Slightly cheaper is Build a Bear at the mall. I think it starts at around $10 a kid, then go to the food court for cake.

The cheaper plan would be to find a great McDonalds or Chickfila and have a party there - at a non-busy time of the day. Or pick a non-busy time at a mall that has a playland, let them play and then go up to the food court for cake/drinks - even one of those cookie cakes you can get at the mall.

Have fun!

We went to a couple of Little Gym parties last year. I think it's a bit pricey, but they take care of just about everything including clean up and it is indoors with activities. The kids seemed to like it as well. I think just about any of those gym places such as Little Gym and Gymboree have party packages.

My daughter was born on Dec. 29th so I know how you feel. I have a great suggestion foryou. It is outside but we did this in Dec. and it wasn't bad.

The Fort Worth Zoo.

you get an inside party room for 2 hours with a live animal show. We brought in hot dogs and cake too!
The you get 30 free passes to the zoo and it's decorated in lights and so pretty.
It worked out well because they could come to the party and see the animal show then if it's too cold they can just go home but if it's nice you can all walk around the zoo.

If you don't like this idea e mail me I'm sure I can come up with some more!
