I need help. I am a very very regular person, and have always had one period every month. I am 34, not on birth control. Now for the past 3 or 4 months the times have been changing during the month of when I start BUT its still always once a month. 2 weeks ago I had a long 5 day period and 3 days ago I started up again with the cramps, heavy bleeding and blood clots. I have gyn appt next week. Has this ever happened to anyone before and what was the problem?

What can I do next?

I had this happen- I was older- sometimes its just menapause kicking in real early believe it or not- I was about 38=39 when it started- I suffered for years- FINALLY! I had an ablation done- I was done having children so it was ok- but just see what the gyno has to say and if they recommend an ablationa dn you are done having children- its mentally a life saving choice- the periods were ruining my life.

Also- if you ahve been stressed lately- that can bring it on as well- the clumping isnt the concern- the length of the period will concern the doctor- keep a chart

I am no doctor. I don't know what is happening in your life that may be causing you stress. Stress can cause cycles to stray.

Or, you may have miscarried. The clotting lends to that possibility. Do you normally have lots of clotting?

If it's not that, you may need to have your FSH tested. The optimal FSH level is 10 or below. As women get later in their menstrual age the FSH level goes up which indicates a reduction in cycle days and a reduction in the quality of eggs. This can occur at any age.

I'm 37 and have been told to start trying now for our second because of some of the same things you are describing. Still, again I am no dr. It could just be changes in your daily routine which are causing changes in your cycle.

I am having the same problem. I am 31 and had a really heavy period with terrible cramps and then 10 days later started again and had bleeding for 11 days. This all started within the last month. I have no idea what the problem is but I went to my Doctor last week. Normal pap, normal bloodwork, no pregnancy or miscarriage. I had an ultrasound so we will find out on Tuesday the results of that. I don't have any answers for you but just wanted to share with you the things my Doctor has checked so far. I hope everything is ok - please pm me if you would like to talk.
