My daughter will be 1 on April 29th. With how this weather is being I'm wondering what kind of weather we will have during that time. I plan on having her birthday on the weekend before. Do you know of any where we can go and have it inside that kids of all ages would like. I was going to have it at a park but I'm worried it will rain. I would like to have a back up in case the weather is bad. I live in Tigard and would like a place that doesnt cost an arm and a leg...

also my son's birthday is on May 17 and we are having his party the weekend after at the childrens museum so that is out.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I think I may have it here. Low key but there will be about 15 people. Give or take. She is used to a lot of people around so I dont think she will be overwhelmed. For my sons birthday we had a lot of people but it was all family.
anyways thank you for your suggestions.

My husband and I own Sound Roots School of Modern Music. We offer birthday parties for all ages - even the tiniest tots. Your party lasts 2 hours. The first hour is led by a music teacher who will custom design a music class for your child and all of their friends. The second hour, the children are free to play with our large selection of instruments (even have kid sized guitars, drums and piano), have cake, open presents, etc. Check out www.soundrootsmusic.com or call ###-###-#### for more info.

Why not have it at home and have it low key. She wil not remember I have 3 older ines and they do not remember a party before their 5th birthday and the point is to celebrate her life! also I have a 3 year old named Gabriella. Isn't that a beautiful name. It means God is her strength.

As one of the other moms said, at 1 years old, it's not really so much for the kids as for the parents. We just did ours at home with some close friends (a small number so as not to overwhelm everyone). All you need are a few toys, some music and space for the little ones to crawl and toddle for about 1 hour. They don't last long anyhow at that age. If that's not an option, and you have a bit you are willing to spend, Gymboree and My Gym offer good options for that age group that are safe and fun. Or, for a very budget friendly option, you can just go to Sip N Kranz in the Pearl where they have a toddler friendly play room, and you do the party in the cafe adjoining the play room. Talk to them, I am sure you can either bring your own cake or buy it through them. They have great coffee, tea and kid-friendly nutritious snacks. If you have not been there, the playroom has a doorway and is seperated by a glass wall so you can sit at tables right next to the room and see inside easily. Also moms are allowed into the room as well (unlike some places like Grandma Leeth's ... ps I can't stand that place!) I can't believe it was designed by a mom or anyone with little kids.

A one year old isn't going to be impressed by a big to-do for their birthday. A big party isn't for the baby, it's for the family & friends. It's recommended to keep a 1 yr old's birthday small, so they don't get stressed out by a large group of people & parents who are tending to guests more than they are the birthday child. One should consider your child's disposition and how well they do in different social settings before sending out dozens of invitations.

E.,
Keep it simple! For my son's first birthday, grandma was here for tea and cake. Then on the following weekend, the great grandparents plus grandma came for lunch and a walk (part of which the birthday boy slept through!). That was a total of 6 people! It was great, low key, and fun for all! One year olds can easily get overwhelmed, why risk it on such a special day? Keep it basic, and get the cameras ready - one good (or semi decent) photo is all that really matters anyway.
