I don't know if I can help you keep his pj's on, but would wearing a onesie under help keep his diaper on? I had a girlfriend that had a similar situation, and found that a onesie kept the diaper on...maybe it'll help you? Good luck! :-)
Help! My 18 month old has figured out how to get his jammies off and wont leave them on! I wouldnt mind if he was sleeping in a diaper but he takes that off too! We have a bedtime routine and hes always been GREAT at going to bed without fussing. He normally plays by hmself alittle after we put him down and then falls asleep. Well last night I went to check on him before we went to bed (and put his blanket back in with him since I thought he threw it out. Well, I went to grab the blanket and found a diaper on the floor! Upon inspection I found my sweet little boy in the buff. Is there any way to get it through that he has to leave his clothing ON? Like I said I dont mind him sleeping in a diaper but Im not a fan of pee soaked bedding! Hes not too warm as he was shivering without his jammies on. I think its more because he can do it so he does! Little Goober!
Okay just to clarify... He is VERY capable of taking off any kind of footy pajamas, undo snaps, zippers...I havent found any jammies with buttons but those may bw worth trying.
So far so good! We cut the feet off a pair of footie sleepers and put them on backwards. He actually fell right to sleep without playing around in his crib. I think he was bored since he couldnt spend time undressing!
When he was about 15 months we found out the hard way that he can get safety pins undone so we are avoiding putting those anywhere near him. We had a safety pin holding a mesh brib guard (goes from under the mattress to all the way over the top rail)on. We found him after nap with it hanging out of his mouth!
So last night went well. We may have to resort to duct taped diapers by this summer. It gets HOT and I dont want to have him too warm in even the lightest zip up sleepers.
Thanks Ladies! You are the greatest!

When we were little my parents would put our zippered feet-pajama's on backwards. You have to twist the ankle part so the feet face the right way, but it kept my little sister in her PJ's all night!
Hi A., When my kids went through this stage I did two things. I put the diaper on backward, so that the velcro stripes were harder for the child to reach. And I used diaper pins(they are much harder to undo that safty pins) to pin the top to the bottoms. I even pinned the socks to the pant legs during the winter months. LOL. What ever works. Another thing to do for bed, is find the one piece sleepers that zip up the front, and put them on backwards. Good luck. This too will pass.
I don't know how to help with the jammies, but you could try to duct tape the diaper on. It's a pain for you, but he shouldn't be able to get it off.
Sounds weird, but it might work.
The only thing I can think of is - Have you tried putting the jammies on backwards? At this age, they LOVE to be naked for some reason and thought you should know - Your not alone! :-)
Good Luck!!

Our WONDERFUL 17 year old babysitter once told me her mother used to put her zip-up, snap-top, footie pajama's on backwards because she used to undress herself. I laughed, thinking how lucky I was that my darlings never have done that!!! Might be worth a try for you. Doesn't seem harmful, but could save from finding wet bedding and a cold, naked baby in the crib!! Good luck!!!
P.s. Would HATE to find a poopie in there!!!
I had the same problem with my second child. I had to resort to cutting the feet out of the jammies, and putting them on backwards. After a few times, she got the hint and left her clothes on. Godd luck!
What works for my little one that loves being in the buff too...is zipper pajamas--placed on backwards...she now just shivies her way out of them but it sometimes still works--not sure if they make summer pj's that zip though, I've never seen any.
Good Luck!
A.,
If you do not mind him just sleeping in the nude you could try putting a pull up on him. They would be a little bit harder to take off because they go down like under wear. I have the pamper ones and my three yr old son tries to rip the sides and he is not strong enough to do that. He would have have to step in and out of it. well it is a thought. you could also try putting the zipper pjs on backwards. Just cut the feet off or but the ones without feet. hope this helps M.
You can try comments like "Ooo, you look cold! Why did you take your jammies off, silly? They keep you warm!" or other comments that make it clear clothes are meant to stay on without being *bossy* (for lack of a better word - sorry, not enough coffee yet this morning!) Let him think it's his idea to put them back on :)
Also, I suggest finding some kind of pajama that will thwart his efforts for a bit. For example, we've used footie pajamas with the snap at the top of the zipper (usually confuses them), or things that button. Maybe give him a doll or toy of some kind that he can dress and undress and tell him if he wants to take some clothes off to take them off his doll/toy.
You are probably correct that he's just taking them off because he can. It's an important skill for him to learn. Try letting him do more of his own dressing in the morning too, so he has some other oppertunities to practice his new skill and feel proud of himself at a time you can appreciate his new genius as well :)
Of course, he may just be one of those kids that's constantly dressing/undressing/dressing again. My youngest is 2.5 and she's *still* obsessed with changing her clothes. It makes me crazy, lol! I can only imagine her teenage years! At least by then she'll be old enough to do the laundry herself! Good luck!
Hi A.
I have the perfect "SIMPLE" solution for you :-))). My daughter used to do the exact same thing. Since we are still having cool nights, blanket sleepers will still work. When it gets warmer, buy the thin cotton one's. Now the secret??....Get a diaper pin and pin that zipper at the top. Works like a charm. He won't be able to get "that" zipper down anymore because their little hands don't have the strength to get that pin undone. A nice cheap effective solution. Enjoy!!

Hi A.,
When my niece was that age my brother and SIL had to resort duct tape. They wrapped it all around her diaper because she would take it off. They also tried buying footy pj's big and putting them on backwards. The only problem with that was because they were big and she was tall and skinny she would wiggle her way out of them. The duct tape was extreme but it was the only thing that they found that worked. Good luck.

this phase too will pass. as a mother of 7 children each one has had their time as nudists. It is because he can. If some of his pj's have a zipper/snaps and does not have footies, try putting them on backward. It worked for some of my kids. Good luck
buy feety pajaams a size too big.. put them on backwards.. (there will be a twist inthe legs) he shouldnt be able to get them off..
or buy feety pajamas and safety pin them at the neck.
cut the feet of the footy jammies and put them on backwards, no way will he get out of that.
