My 16 month old is displaying teething type symptoms...chewing, crying, drooling...chewing on her hands, clothes, etc...she is cranky more than usual - normally the crankies only happen at bed time but now she can spontaneously cry anytime and all seems to revolve around her mouth.

However, she already has 12 teeth and all have come completely in. I have checked to see if more are coming but se no sign of that. So, what could the issue be and how can I help more than I am. I have been giving her ibuprofen, Humphrey's tablets and homemade popsicles.

editting since first 2 responses were about molars...
She has her first molars already....
I guess it could be the canines...? But she showed very little symptoms with molars... and this is driving her crazy

What can I do next?

Maybe teeth may be ears. ESP if her sleep is being disturbed. And they'll sometimes mess with there mouths cause they don't know where the pain is coming from. And just cause you dont see the teeth coming doesn't mean she's not teething. My daughter liked sucking on a cold wet clean washcloth when she was teething. Hope this helps.

Did this just start happening? My son did the same thing - especially the drooling when he had Hand and Mouth. Look to see if you see tiny little sores in her mouth. I too thought my son was teething but he really had the virus. http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvrd/revb/enterovirus/hfhf.htm

My son was doing all that a few weeks before his molars started making an appearance. He didn't have any symptoms w/ his other teeth but he was a mess w/ those. Popsicles, which I know you already mentioned worked the best for us . We sit outside & I put him in baby pool & let him have a good amount ( meaning more than I should ) but I feel so bad for him. They look so painful.

I second the "hand, foot, and mouth" suggestion. Around 2 1/2 my son was showing teething symptoms, but it was hand, foot and mouth. Take him to the doctor. It runs its course quickly, but its very painful for them!

Make an appointment with a pediatric dentist. If you call your insurance provider they can give you a list of all the ones in your area they have contracts with. A pediatric dentist is a different breed of dentist. They are specialist in baby teeth and the teeth coming in eventually. I will never take the kids to anyone but the pediatric dentist we found years ago. He puts the kids to sleep to do dental work and plays with the kids while they are getting their teeth cleaned. They love him and want to go see him every time we pass his office.
