My 15 month old son starts the night in his crib. Around 11 pm he comes in our bed when he wakes. Recently he has been waking around 3am and staying up for an hour or more. He is wide awake. We rock him and sometimes he falls back to sleep and sometimes just stays up for a while. We put him to bed around 8pm. Any suggestions? We are going to try to put him to bed later.

What can I do next?

There is a wonder period around this age. I wouldn't put him to bed later. In fact, at 15 months, i'd think he should be going to bed earlier, like 7:30, but it all depends on when he wakes. 12 hours a night is still in effect at this age.

Also, if he hasn't already dropped the second nap, this could be the cause.

Could he be hungry? My little girl did that but it got better when my grandma suggested we feed her another little snack RIGHT before bed. We usually did a little applesauce and some milk.

All kids go through phases where they wake up and don't sleep all the way through the night. My grand kids did it all the time. I am glad they sleep through the night now.
